SPRING passed by quickly, it felt. Days filled with tiresome schoolwork and late night telephone calls after the pair finally made it home, whether it be from a shift at the café or a late held soccer practice.

March was at its end, the warm days of April not far from reach. The days began to grow longer, daylight saving creeping up on them as the sun stayed out for longer.

Currently, on a Wednesday afternoon, she passed through the school halls alone. The golden hue of the sun filled the hallway, seeping in from the windows spread across the halls.

Haewon had come back from a short lived club meeting with her clubmates, going over a few things before inevitably splitting up as everyone went home immediately after.

Home was exactly where Seong Haewon was headed, feeling tired after not getting too much sleep last night with the quarrel between her parents muffling through the thin walls of their shared family home.

Usually, on days like these, she’d wait up for Heeseung, But, when coming to a realization that she wasn’t very well rested, he advised her to head home when given the chance.

His practice was going to run later than usual tonight, and he didn’t want to keep her out longer than necessary.

So, with her backpack swung lazily over her shoulder, she wandered to the exit of the school.

Pushing the double doors open, a rush of warm air engulfed her. The feeling of the hot sun on her body soothed her, as a light breeze brushed by just enough to keep her from overheating.

Seong Haewon was happy. For once, she found herself feeling completed with a sense of accomplishment.

Despite her initial struggles with family troubles that still lingered — not yet fixed and pieced together, the confirmed knowledge that somebody cared for her the same way she did for them provided her with the sense of comfort she longed for internally.

Lee Heeseung was just that for her. Her solace, her place in this ever so cruel and chaotic world. Her heart felt complete, a missing puzzle piece found upon discovering his reciprocated feelings.
