CH 43 - THREATS AND ANGER

Since talking to Joong, Dunk gradually received trust from him, he was also more comfortable and free in Aydin, the bodyguards did not follow him as closely as before. Pond's brain death condition has gradually stabilized, Dunk also feels more secure because Joong will not worry as much anymore.

Today Dunk was alone at home, Fourth had just gone out to buy food. The sound of the doorbell ringing caught his attention. Dunk took steps to open the door. His bodyguard stood in front of him, handing out an empty parcel.

"Doctor Dunk, someone sent you a package."

"Who is that?"

"I do not know"

Dunk took the parcel in his hand, confused because he didn't know who sent it. His bodyguard must have returned to guard the door. Dunk sat alone in a chair and tore a corner of the envelope, his eyes starting to widen. A letter arrived from Lemin

"Dunk Natachai, arrange a date with me if you don't want your friend to be killed. Contact this number- Lemin"

Dunk read without missing a word, his hands curled tightly as he looked at the photo of a seriously injured Phuwin panting in front of his house, a photo taken when he tried to escape from Phuwanat's men. Dunk glared at the phone numbers in the letter. He went up to his room. As soon as he got inside, he quickly pressed a call. There was no sound on the other end of the line. Dunk had just received the signal to pick up the phone and asked

"What are you planning to do to my friend?"

(As you know, your friend's life depends on your decision)

Dunk's eyes were red with anger, the letter in his hand was crumpled intact

(Come to see me, alone, don't let Aydin's people know)

Lemin's rudeness rang in Dunk's ears, and he suppressed his voice

"Where is the address?"

After the call with Lemin, Dunk stood in the room constantly thinking about how to respond. The picture of Phuwin being seriously injured prompted Dunk to call him but only received a no-connection signal. Eager to send Phuwin a message, Dunk told him to respond immediately if he saw it. Going back and forth a few times, Dunk finally decided to go alone to meet Lemin, and the important thing now was that Dunk needed to bypass his bodyguard.

Dunk went downstairs, looked up at Fourth carrying a few bags of stuff and went inside. He walked over to help Fourth a little, his eyes seemed to glow when he thought of a reason to go out.

"Fourth, let's go out and buy some things. We're missing some medicine in Pond's room."

"Yes"

Fourth did not doubt Dunk's statement at all. He watched Dunk go out the door and then continued to return to his work. Dunk went out the door and saw the bodyguard immediately approaching

"Fourth asked me to go buy some missing items. I'll go to the market for a bit and I'll be back."

The two bodyguards looked at each other and hesitated for a while, thinking that Joong had recently loosened up Dunk and often took him out, so they agreed. Dunk successfully ran out the door and caught a car to the appointed location.
