Clementine's POV:
For the next three days I had a cycle of opening the door slightly and shooting whatever walkers I could. If they came close enough I would stab them to get rid of them silently. I was slowly making progress. There were a lot less than there were at the start, but I was covered in their blood and making our room stink worse than it did at the start.
"Sorry guys. I know I smell awful."
"We don't care."
"Yeah you're literally protecting us Clem."
I smiled at them praying the truck would come back soon.
Violet's POV:
It's been three days without Clem. It's been really hard. Sleeping by myself has been so difficult I feel like I'm barely sleeping at all.
"GUYS! COMMON ROOM NOW!"
While laying in bed I heard Louis yell from the hallway. I got up and put on my shoes then ran to the common room.
"Guys! They're leaving in 20! Taking the truck to where Clementine is. Pack everything. NOW! We have to move. We aren't coming back."
I nodded and sprinted to the bedroom. I packed all of our clothes that we were given, and the ones we came with. I ran downstairs and outside with my backpack on. I grabbed the gun I stole from the armory the day before and met up with everyone.
"You guys ready?"
"Yeah, let's move."
We snuck across the camp and to where the military building is. There were no trucks outside so we snuck our way to the back of it where the truck was sitting. We all got in and laid flat in the back on top of each other. Fitting all of us wasn't easy but we needed to get out. We laid there until we heard voices and two men got into the truck. We felt the car start moving and we were out. We laid there silent for a decent amount of time until the truck stopped. While the men got out and were inspecting the entrance I snuck out of the truck and shot both of them instantly.
"Told you I'd kill you, ugly fuck."
"Damn Vi."
"No one touches Clementine."
I looked up as my gun shot caused some walkers to file out of the doors. They were all deformed from the plant and they looked disgusting. I took out the couple that exited the building then we slowly moved in. I looked in to see a bunch of dead walkers on the floor.
"Jesus. Was this Clem?"
"Who else would be able to kill this many?"
I heard banging on the door to the right so I decided not to open that one. I walked towards the door on the left and slowly opened the handle. I peeked in and was met with a gun to the head.
"Vi?"
"CLEM!"
I turned my head to see her, exhausted and covered in blood. I sighed and gave her a hug.
"Oh my god. I thought I lost you."
She just smiled at me tiredly.
"You must be exhausted."
"Yeah. Haven't slept much."
"Well we grabbed everything. We're going back to the school. You can rest, eat, and clean up there."
"What about the Delta?"
"We'll get ready. Build up defenses and get ready to attack them. If they get to us first we'll kill them."
"Okay."
I smiled at her and kissed her.
"I missed you Clem. So much."
"I missed you more."
We walked out and got into the truck her squad behind us. I pulled Clem over to the side.
"Where's the rest of..."
She just stared at me with empty sad eyes.
"Oh Clem I'm so sorry."
I gave her a hug as I saw her tear up. I knew she didn't want to cry in front of everyone so I let her get into the passenger seat of the truck. I got in the driver's seat and turned towards the back.
"Guys, do we know how to get back?"
"Follow the river west and pray we're on the correct side of it."
"Got it."
I started up the truck and we headed home. After a long drive we finally saw the walls of the school.
"We made it."
I felt myself tear up. We survived. The Delta is going to be pissed. But for now who cares, we were home.
