Clementine's POV

I got into the office and called Rayne, Misa, and Taylor in. We spoke about the plan and if they were in or not.

"So that's everything. How do you two feel about all of this?"

"Wow. I'm so in."

"Me too!"

"Perfect. We meet every night after dinner in our building. Join us starting tonight."

"Yes sir."

"We'll be there."

I smiled as they walked out and I got back to the paperwork I was doing. Once I finished I went downstairs to train with them because we weren't being sent out today. God I hate it here.

Violet's POV

I walked into a small concrete building and headed over to the lockers on the furthest wall. I grabbed my apron and put it on then headed over to a workbench. There was a piece of paper lying on the desk like there was the last shift. I picked it up and read what it said.

"Make three silencers, clean as many weapons in storage as possible, fix and customize an AR and pistol for Clementine. Oh I get to make Clem's guns? Now I'm excited."

I immediately brushed over my other two tasks and got straight into making Clem's guns. They were going to be perfect. I spent the entire time before lunch customizing them to her liking which I've come to know by heart exactly what she loves and hates about guns. Once they were finished I carved a very small C+V in a heart on the grip of both the guns. This way she would know I made them perfect for her.

"AIDEN!"

I yelled and then waited as I heard footsteps come running from down the hall.

"Yes Vi?"

He was out of breath from running, which caused me to let out a little giggle.

"Not funny Vi."

"Sorry. Sorry. I just have these two guns finished that need to be run to the military building today."

"Got it. I'll have it sent over there as fast as possible."

"By today Aiden."

"Yes yes. No later than before they leave for dinner."

"Thank you."

He gave me a small smile and ran back to the room he came from. Being a gun runner can't be easy. I'm grateful that I'm only the one who makes them. I walked back over to my work bench and sighed looking at the long list of weapons I still had to make.

Clementine's POV

I wiped my face with my towel as I turned around to see my group sparring. As I was watching I heard the elevator door open which was weird because we had booked the training room completely.

"Clementine."

I turned around to see a man I've never seen before.

"Hello?"

"We haven't met. I'm Nathan. I'm your major, you will refer to me as sir."

"Yes sir...may I ask what you're doing here?"

"You were told you weren't going out today. We were wrong, one of our group's needs a rescue team. That will be you guys. It won't be easy; they are in walker infested territory. Expect death from either squad, just bring back as many as you can Captain."

"Yes sir."

I couldn't let him hear the excitement in my voice. I was going to be given an assault rifle and the ability to leave and see exit routes. Is there a chance I die? Maybe. Do I care? Kind of. But I have to do this for my family.

"Alright guys you heard him! Get ready, we leave in five!"

"Yes sir!"

I got in the elevator and went to where the guns were held .

"I'm here to pick up my guns for today's mission."

"Name?"

"Clementine."

"Rank?"

"Captain."

"One second."

The woman behind the desk stood up and went to a locker. She opened it and pulled out a new pistol, knife, and assault rifle.

"At the end of the day, you can keep the knife and the pistol for the holders on your pants. For the assault rifle it must be brought back. Only ranks major and higher can carry those around freely."

"Thanks."

I grabbed the guns she gave me and felt something on the grip. I looked down to see a heart with a C+V carved into both the pistol and the rifle. I caught myself blushing thinking about Violet making these guns for me. I put the pistol in my holster and my rifle on my shoulder then walked out the back door. I saw a truck waiting for me, my squad already piled in the back. I climbed in and sat in front of them.

"Okay! Let's move!"

The truck lurched forward and started to make its way.

"Cap?"

"Yeah?"

"Where are we even going?"

"I don't know the answer to that question. Just somewhere walker infested I guess. Don't worry if it's too dangerous I'll call it. I will keep every single one of you guys safe."

They all looked at me smiling, feeling safer they knew I was there for them and not just myself. I couldn't just let them be killed, they're too young. Plus I want to save as many of them as possible from here. Escaping should be a good thought but in reality I'm nervous. I have worse enemies that I've made in life and god forbid I miss someone here. Then people just keep attacking us. Fuck it. I'll kill them too. I'm getting us out of here and talking out anyone who tries anything. After a long drive the truck started to slow and we moved out of the truck. I stood up to see a chemical plant that looks like it's been abandoned for years.

"Where the fuck are we?"

"I have no idea."

We unloaded our weapons from the truck then walked towards the doors. I turned around to see the truck speeding off the way we came.

"HEY!"

"WAIT!"

"They left us."

"Oh my god. We're going to die."

All of a sudden everything clicked. I knew why they did this and how I was going to save not only my squad but my family.
