the days that turned into weeks, that turned into months of touya living with you were over, the moment toga called him.
the day he left, you cried for hours, while also being on the phone with him. he didn't tell you how long he'd be gone. he didn't even know, himself, the answer to that question.
he was trying to call you or text you whenever he had signal on his phone. and everytime, you were picking up with so much enthusiasm and happiness.
the day he called you and told you that he was going back to the hideout, you rushed out of your house in an instant. the least you could do was go there and wait for him.
you looked around you before creaking the door open, hiding yourself away. you removed the hood from your head and the mask from your face, as you walked further in the hideout.
you noticed all the things left around by the league; some clothes, some card games, some empty cans of refreshments, and a laptop that you didn't know what they were using it for.
you sat down on the arm of an armchair and looked at your phone; you didn't have any signal, so you couldn't text touya that you were waiting for him.
you heard some static from the laptop, which made you turn your head to the side. you got up from the armchair and walked towards the noise, avoiding stepping on the trash scattered on the floor.
"long time no see, y/n l/n"
your breath got stuck in your throat, and you immediately took some steps back, knocking over some wooden stools.
"why so scared, y/n?" all for one laughed, appearing on the laptop's screen.
your whole body was shaking, short sharp breaths escaping your lips. you never thought they'd be a day where the fear you faced when you were a teenager would come back.
"i'm surprised you didn't know i was here. thought the league was talking about me"
"or maybe they didn't tell you so they could take advantage of you and your kindness. you surely spoiled them a lot, didn't you, y/n?"
"but, i suppose, you're your parents' daughter"
"don't put them in your mouth" you said, clenching your fist in anger by your side.
"let me tell you a fun fact about that time back then! you were kept in the same building as touya" he said, making your eyes widen.
"how... how do you know his name?"
"oh, i was the one who saved him when he was younger"
"you're lying!"
"i find myself to be an honest man"
"maybe, it's your dear boyfriend who's lying and keeping things hidden from you. all that so he could use you"
"no! you're wrong! he's not—"
"not lying to you? not using you?"
"think about it, y/n. he told you things about himself, but kept me a secret. why? because he knew your past. and he knew that he'd lose you if he told you the truth"
"so, he kept it a secret. not to protect you. but, to use you. and he did a pretty good job with that!"
"you gave him a house to live. you gave him food to eat. you treated him like he was a normal human being and not some rotten villain. and what did he do? he took advantage of you and, now, stabbed you in the back"
"oh, isn't that brilliant, y/n?" he laughed.
you could hear your heart breaking in your chest, as tears rolled down your cheeks.
all for one's laugh was the last thing you heard, before you run. run out of the hideout and away. run without looking back to check if anyone came back.
run without realizing your phone was left on the hideout's floor.
