"what? that's not true..."

"it's not?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"i mean... it's impossible for you to—"

dabi smiled the moment you stopped, knowing that you started connecting the dots.

"you're his first born... someone who was announced dead years ago..."

"you know your stuff, pretty"

"back then! that's when i started not caring about endeavor!"

"i remember it all too well! the news report, the fire, endeavor's silence after the incident! i just... couldn't understand how a parent would let something like that happen to their own child" you continued.

"oh, princess... you don't know half of it"

he started telling you everything; endeavor's plan and his abuse, his own excessive training and the pain from his quirk, the way he tolerated it all because he wanted his father to look at him.

he told you moments and conversations from when he was living in his family's house, moments of the times he was alone; even, his final moments and thoughts while he was burning alive.

tears were running down your cheeks, from all the new pieces of information.

you couldn't believe it. the person you had in front of you was so much more than you ever thought he'd be.

dabi placed a hand on your cheek, wiping some tears away. in that moment you noticed the blood that rolled down his cheek.

"you're crying blood?" you asked softly, as you wiped it away with your thumb.

"yep. my tear ducts are burned"

"does it hurt?"

"it does"

two words. two words were all you needed to lean closer to his face and kiss his scars.

you wouldn't do it any other day, but you thought this was the right moment to do it.

he stood frozen, feeling your warm lips on his skin— while you kissed between the staples on his face. he didn't know he needed that til then.

"what about your scars? how were you able to... get patched up?" you asked softly, still kissing his face.

"a doctor found me and took me in his hospital. he fixed me up in a way. this is the best he could do, i suppose"

"you suppose?"

"i was in a coma for three years, pretty. i don't know what was going on then"

"wait! since he was a doctor... why didn't he call your family?"

"oh, angel, he wasn't your ordinary doctor. he's mostly on the villains side"

he couldn't bring himself to tell you the truth about who really found him. he couldn't do that to you. it'd only feel like stabbing you on the back, by admitting he works with all for one.

"but, anyways. i went back home after i run away from the hospital"

"you run away?"

"com'on, i wasn't crazy enough to stay in there!" he said, slightly squeezing your waist.

you raised your head to look at him, a small laugh leaving your lips at his expression.

"so... what happened? when you went back home?"

"i saw that nothing changed there. my father was just abusing his perfect child instead. a failure like me was completely forgotten. only a shrine in my old room can possibly make him remember me"

"not really! he still remembers you because of your siblings, or because of the fact that he failed you" you said, making him raise an eyebrow.

"i don't think endeavor ever forgot about you. is that even possible in the first place?" you asked.

"there's no way your siblings don't ever bring you up in a conversation, because they hold a grudge. natsuo, for example!"

"and i'm sure that, now, endeavor knows that he should've acted differently and tried to save you!"

"yet, he's still just an abusive piece of shit who ain't ever gonna change and keep on repeating the same mistakes again and again just to get what he wants" you added.

"i love it when you talk like that"

"dabi! that's not what you should be focusing on, right now!"

"no, no, no! you ain't gonna be calling me that"

"you can call me touya, princess"
