"you... you'd like that?"

you nodded your head, watching the smile on his face get bigger.

"this isn't the answer i was expecting but, i'm not complaining at all"

he landed next to you, his eyes shining with excitement. you swore if he had a tail, instead of wings, he'd look like a puppy who just saw its favorite snack.

"so, flying?"

"i suppose"

he didn't waste any second as he picked you up, bridal style, before flying up in the night sky. you held onto him, your eyes shut closed, while the air hit your face.

"look down, dollface"

you slowly opened your eyes, looking at the city below. at that moment you felt so jealous of hawks, who was able to look at this view all the time.

"it's so beautiful..."

your eyes were wide as you stared down, the city lights founding home in them. hawks was looking at you, taking in your expression.

"it really is"

he had stopped moving, just to let you admire the view. a tear rolled down your cheek and you were glad he couldn't see it.

"i'll take you somewhere where you'll be able to see this"

he, indeed, took you to a restaurant where you could see the whole city from above. you sat on the table close to the window, your eyes locked on the scenery outside.

"so, dollface... what is going on?"

"what is going on?" you asked, turning your head to look at him.

"you tell me"

"i know that i left abruptly that one night, and ever since then you hadn't heard from me— but, i was passing by in case you were on the balcony"

"you never were... and after a while i saw that the flowers had wilted. i was flying around hoping to see you somewhere, i was calling you but your phone was on silent and my texts never got delivered" he continued.

"what exactly happened, y/n?"

by the time he stopped talking, tears were already rolling down your cheeks. he got up from his seat and came next to you, his arms and wings wrapping around you.

he let you cry freely, dismissing every waiter that came closer. the moment you pulled away, he was already offering you a handkerchief.

"i'm sorry... it's stupid, really"

"it can't be stupid if it makes you cry this way"

"i just... i broke up"

his lips formed into an o shape, as he stared at you, before wiping the tears off your cheeks.

"this isn't stupid, doll..."

"you spent some time of your life with this person, after all"

"can't we just... not talk about it? i didn't leave my house for this" you said softly.

"of course! you're here to get things off your mind!"

"and i promise to help you in every way i can"
