throughout your dinner with hawks, you were trying so hard to stop thinking about touya. yet, there were moments where you wished he was the one in front of you.

but, hawks was making you laugh when you felt like crying, so you tried to let go of everything for one night. it wouldn't hurt, after all.

"are you sure you should be drinking, mr. number two?"

"just one glass won't hurt anyone, right?"

"don't you have patrol tomorrow morning?"

"nope! just some other things to take care of"

"agency stuff?"

"i wish. it's villain stuff"

"and what exactly does that mean?"

"i kinda work with the league of villains"

"excuse me?"

that was something you didn't expect.

"i'm a double agent, dollface"

"when... when did you start working with them...?"

"three weeks ago"

you stayed silent for a minute, the gears in your head moving. hawks started working with them at the worst time; one week after your break up with touya.

"are you even supposed to be talking about this?"

"not really. they put a chip on one of my feathers, which tracks my location and works like a microphone, too"

"but, today that's not the case. i removed it"

"i don't think you're allowed to do such thing! you're gonna get in trouble!"

"i'll have no regrets about it, though. because i get to spend a part of my night with a gorgeous woman"

"you've drunk too much..."

"not even! i'm just being honest"

you watched him as he got up, leaving money on the table, before extending his arm.

"com'on! let me walk you back home. it's getting late"

his right wing was around you as you walked, and you could feel it bringing you closer to him, every now and then. people around you were taking photos, so that was his way of trying to protect your privacy.

you had stopped in an alley, because you didn't want to go back home just yet. little did hawks know that it was the same alley you and his enemy used to meet at.

"thank you for tonight, keigo. i really needed this"

"you don't have to thank me, doll. we've said that a hundred times before"

"but, i suppose tonight makes up for all the previous rejections"

"those were a different case!" you laughed.

"yeah... back then you had a boyfriend"

"funny how things change so fast, huh?"

hawks was looking at you, his fingers twirling a strand of your hair. maybe it was the way he was looking at you that made you lean closer. or the alcohol in your system.

his lips were mere inches away from yours, yet the voice of right and wrong was silent in your head.

in a single moment of weakness you gave in, pressing your lips on his. his feathers twitched slightly, as he brought your body closer— his hands resting respectfully on your waist.

the smell and taste of smoke you were used to was nowhere; you could only taste on his lips the dessert you shared earlier.

even though he was panting when you pulled away, his mouth met yours again, savoring your taste. he softly bit down on your bottom lip, making you sigh;

"i suppose we can make the night a little longer"
