Ok!🥰"So, after a long time, Ms. Chauhan! I thought you were doing it all right after..." The woman in her mid-30s, a seasoned psychologist with an air of calm authority, greeted Shivalika.
Shivalika sauntered over to the familiar couch, settling in as if she owned the place. It wasn't the first time she had made herself at home here, this office had seen more of her than she cared to admit. Over time, their relationship had evolved from that of patient and therapist to a peculiar friendship. After all, Ritika knew everything about Shivalika. her secrets, her fears, her darkest thoughts. The friendship was a strategic safeguard, ensuring that those confidences remained buried where they belonged.
"You mean I can only come to you when I'm not doing all right?" Shivalika shot back, her right eyebrow arching in mock offense.
"Yes," Ritika replied, her tone blunt but playful.
"Oh, come on, Ritika. Why are you acting like I didn't pay you last time?" Shivalika rolled her eyes dramatically.
"Fortunately, you did," Ritika said with a tight-lipped smile, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Or else I would have returned your trauma to you!"
"Such a shameless money-minded lady," Shivalika muttered under her breath, loud enough for Ritika to hear.
"Thank you," Ritika responded with a serene smile, unfazed and unbothered. "Then what brought this non-sharer to this sharer?" Ritika leaned back in her chair.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Shivalika shot her a confused glance, her eyebrows knitting together as she stared at Ritika like she'd just spoken in a foreign language.
"What?" She shrugged off.
"I am already annoyed. Don't annoy me more!"
Ritika chuckled softly, unfazed by Shivalika's irritation. "Alright, alright" she said, raising her hands in mock surrender. "So, tell me, what's gotten you so worked up this time?"
Shivalika sighed, her defenses slightly lowering. "It's just... everything. I don't even know where to start."
Ritika's playfulness vanished the moment she heard the strain in Shivalika's voice. Her smile faded, replaced by a look of concern as she leaned forward, her eyes searching Shivalika's face for clues. The tension in the room thickened, and Ritika's demeanor shifted into something more earnest and attentive.
"Shivalika, talk to me," Ritika said, her voice soft but steady. "What's really going on?" She was no longer the teasing friend but the dedicated psychologist.
Shivalika sighed and looked away.
"H-He is here!" She didn't glance at Ritika, Ritika frowned at first but then her eyebrows relaxed realising who she was talking about.
"You mean, Aditya?" She asked. Shivalika nodded.
"Did You guys meet?"
"Often" As She replied, Ritika's eyes widened in surprise.
"About what? Is He trying to re-enter your life?"
"No! But he has entered Vartika's life. I was scared of this only and it happened! Vartika got attached to him. She keeps talking about him."
"Wait! How does Vartika know about him? does she know everything? Tell me from the start, it's confusing!" Ratika sat straight, She was so confused. what did he come back? How does Vartika know him? Do they know everything?
Shivalika took a deep breath before speaking. She told her everything.
"They hid it from you?" Ritika was shocked, She couldn't believe what she told her.
