Aditya twirled Vartika once, her giggle bubbling up like the sweetest melody, filling every corner of the living room "I love dancing" she shouted gleefully because the music was loud.
Aditya chuckled, his heart swelling with warmth. He bent down slightly, taking her tiny hand in his. "If my princess likes it, then her dad loves it even more!" he replied, grinning as wide as her eyes sparkled.
They started to sway together, Vartika's little feet stepping on his from time to time, but neither of them cared. Her small hand wrapped around his large palm, she mimicked what she thought dancing should look like. Her dress twirled with each movement. Vartika tried her best to match Aditya's steps but ended up stepping on his foot.
She glanced at him with a mischievous smile, trying her hardest to keep up but inevitably stepping on his foot again. Aditya exaggerated a goofy expression of mock pain, causing Vartika to burst into laughter. Her laugh was so pure and carefree.
Their chuckles and giggles filled in the living room, They were so lost in the fun that they didn't realise that Shivalika was watching them. She smiled looking at them, Her daughter looked so happy, As Shivalika looked at them, a bittersweet realization crept in. Vartika had always adored her father, and in moments like these, it became so clear how much she craved the bond only Aditya could provide. No matter how much love Shivalika showered on her, there was a special place in Vartika's heart that only Aditya could fill. He had been her hero from the start, her laughter and joy always brightest in his presence. No doubt he was the best father.
Shivalika sighed softly, not out of sadness, but with a kind of content acceptance.
As the song faded out, Vartika hugged Aditya, resting her head against his chest. "You are the Best Dad!!" she exclaimed, her voice full of admiration.
Aditya chuckled "And You are the Best Daughter!" He kissed her left cheek.
Suddenly, Aditya's eyes flickered toward where he noticed Shivalika standing, watching them with a warm smile. He smirked mischievously and looked down at Vartika.
"Vee," he whispered, his eyes twinkling with playful intent.
Vartika immediately caught on, her face lighting up with excitement. "Yes, Papa?"
Aditya's smirk grew wider. "You dance so well, I don't think you learned it from your Mom. I guess you are born dancer, just like your dad"
Oh, and I was thinking He has become a wise man.
'Self Obsessed, Bishh' Shivalika muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes.
Can't He once stop talking about himself? Why does he think that only his genes worked on Vartika?
Shivalika crossed her arms "Yes, Whatever she does... everything she got is because of her father! Just like father like daughter" She gave him a tight lip smile, Aditya and Vartika looked at each other as if they were proud. It was a compliment for them.
"If it's showing tantrums, Not waking up in the morning and sleeping like a pig, Making excuses, Shouting over things, throwing clothes here and there, leaving half eaten plate... Everything she has gotten from her father" She said and the smile on the Father-daughter duo vanished immediately.
Oh, so that was a touch of sarcasm.
"So what? She has many good habits of mine also" Aditya told her. Vartika nodded her head instantly, supporting her father.
"Oh Really? Please tell me a few from many" She asked, But Aditya was speechless.
HE COULDN'T REMEMBER EVEN ONE GOOD HABIT OF HIS!!!!
