"She's upstairs. Take her with you, Aditya."
Aditya stood astonished. She didn't argue, didn't resist. She wasn't even trying to stop him. Why was she so willing to let go of her daughter? It was almost as if she had expected this moment all along.
Shivalika's teary eyes locked with his, meeting the storm of fury in his gaze. Her lips pressed together in a tight line, revealing nothing. She knew this was coming. She knew what would happen when Aditya discovered the truth about his daughter.
"Take her," Shivalika said, her voice trembling with emotion. Sending her with him was better than letting her daughter get manipulated by her family. At least Aditya won't fill up her ears with the wrong things.
"But before you do, hear the complete truth, Aditya Agnihotri." The words didn't come from her. They came from someone else. Aditya turned toward the source of the voice, and so did everyone else in the room.
It was Yash.
The Chauhans stared at him in disbelief as he walked towards Aditya with a determined look.
"At least know the full truth if you already know Vee is your daughter!" Yash declared, his voice steady but intense. He glanced at his family, seeing the fear etched on their faces.
"Wh-what are you saying, Yash?" Chandrika stammered, signalling him to stop, but he ignored her.
"You're complaining because she left you when you needed her the most, But have you ever tried to know the reason?"
"Yash, no!" Shivalika shook her head frantically, but Yash was resolute. He couldn't bear to see his sister suffer any longer. She had already endured so much.
Aditya's eyes flickered from Shivalika to Yash. What more was she hiding?
"No, Shivi! He deserves to know what happened eight years ago when he was lying in that hospital bed, fighting for his life!" Yash's voice was firm, a tremor of suppressed emotion underneath not knowing that even he knew the half truth.
Aditya's heart pounded in his chest as he stared at Yash. The revelation, the truth that had been kept from him for eight long years, was about to surface. His fists clenched at his sides, the anger within him simmering, ready to explode.
"What are you talking about, Yash? Say it clearly" Aditya demanded, his voice low but laced with threat, She was hiding more other than Vartika being his daughter made him more furious. Was his whole relationship a joke?
Yash took a deep breath, his gaze briefly shifting to Shivalika, who stood there trembling. She looked as though the weight of the world was pressing down on her. She knew what was coming, but this time she couldn't stop it.
"Eight years ago," Yash began, his voice heavy with the burden of the truth, "You had a car accident when Shivi was in the hospital! She came for you!! But... Do You know that Accident-- That Accident was pre-planned!! By who we don't know but we all had an idea! It must be your grandpa behind this! He wanted you both to break up, he was ready to do anything for that! He was against you already. See, how low he stooped to apart you guys that he was ready to take the life of his grandson! That's why-- This is the reason I agreed with my family! because if he could hurt you then my sister is nothing for him!" Yash told him, and Aditya stood bewildered. he couldn't comprehend anything. He knew his grandpa was the worst man, and he didn't like him, but he knew him very well. He can stoop low, but he can never hurt his grandson physically because losing him means losing the business, and he would never make such a mistake. Yash was misunderstanding. All the while Yash was thinking it was Harivansh... But Aditya knew he was not.
Yash turned to Shivalika, who stood silently there. He had never seen his sister crying and being so helpless after that day, but these days, she came back to the track again. Aditya was not the only one who got hurt in all this. His sister suffered too, He has seen the regret and longing in her eyes for him when she came back to India. She never shared her feelings after that day, whenever someone asked her how she was feeling? She would reply with a smile. The only decision she could make was to come back to India because Yash's parents never judged her and her daughter. Though they do what her parents ask because she is their daughter, they never speak in this matter. Everything was between Shivalika and her parents.
