The Next Day...
"SHE FREAKING DIED!"
"SHE.FREAKING.DIED" Shivalika paced back and forth in the living room, her movements restless, as Aditya quietly observed her turmoil. Vartika went with her Uncle Yash after Aditya asked her if she was missing Yash, and our poor Vee didn't understand her father's trick and called her uncle, who immediately came to pick her up, thinking she was missing him. Though Aditya loves his daughter to the moon... but he loves his daughter's mother a bit too much. How will he give her siblings if she keeps interrupting like this?
But on a serious note, Aditya sent Vartika with Yash because today, Shivalika was at home because of the weekend but she had been shouting since morning, panicking, She was on the edge of a breakdown, and he didn't want his daughter to see this. Shivalika was discussing the matter with her assistant. The legal paperwork had been thoroughly discussed, yet a heavy anxiety lingered. Now, Shivalika was burdened with a dual battle in court: proving Veer Raghuvanshi's innocence and clearing him of any involvement in Samira's death.
Things were very complicated already, The case was already a twisted web, and she had promised the Raghuvanshis that she would clear their tarnished reputation. Despite her relentless dedication and extra hours on this case. She was frustrated, She needed a break from all this.
"Just sit down and breathe," Aditya said gently, breaking through her anxious pacing. She paused, looked at him, and let out a deep sigh.
"I can't, Aditya! You don't understand how important this case is to me. If I lose this case then it will be a stain on my reputation and my profession, I have never lost a single case against my opponent, Do You know why? Because I only fight for people who deserve justice. If I lose this one, it won't just be their loss-it'll be my pride at stake!" She pointed at herself, Her voice trembling, She was getting emotional, Aditya stood up from his place when he saw her moist eyes.
She was pressurised.
He stepped towards her and without a word, he wrapped her in a warm hug, gently rubbing her back. It didn't take long for Shivalika to break down, Tears slipped from her eyes. She was not shocked or surprised when he hugged her, It's been so long since she felt like this.
She was feeling home.
And She knew at this moment that She needed him, he had always been there for her.
She gripped his shirt tightly, pulling him closer, and he held her firmly. "It's Ok, I know You will win this case" he murmured once they broke the hug, looking down at her with a soft smile. His words were steady and sure."The Shivalika I know never gives up"
She sniffed "But This is something different, I never cried because of a case"
"That's because things aren't going the way you want" He replied while wiping her tears with his thumb "And above all You are on your period"
"How do you know?" She looked at him in shock.
He rolled his eyes "As if I'd forget how you act in your period. C'mon Ms Chauhan, I still remember your each and everything" He pulled her even closer, and she felt her heart race as a shiver ran down her spine. His warm breath brushed her cheek, and suddenly, the tension in the room shifted. The worries about the case slowly faded, and for a moment, nothing else mattered but the closeness they shared.
She opened her mouth to speak but her throat dried when She sensed the change in the environment.
"And Even though I know that you will win this case but if by 0.1% chance, you lose the case, I want you to remember that I will still be proud of you! I will always be a man who is proud of his woman" he brushed a loose strand of hair away from her face. His words were simple, yet they carried a weight she hadn't realized she needed.
