My driver pulled up at the training centre on the first official day back for all the players, and I got out of the car before walking the usual way up to my office, while greeting some employees and staff here and there. As I sat down on my desk and fired up my computer, my mind inevitably wandered to Kenan. We hadn't talked since that night of the Champions League final and I honestly didn't know where we were standing right now. I knew it had been me to suggest staying away from each other for a while, but still - I missed him.

At 11, I had a meeting scheduled to greet the new medical staff with Claudio and I walked downstairs while checking some e-mails on my phone, when I bumped into someone.
"Sor- oh hey" I said surprised when I saw Kenan who smiled at me with that adorable grin playing on his lips.
"Hi. Welcome back" he replied. "Had some good holidays?" he asked, making up some small-talk and I forgot all about that meeting I should be in.

"Uh- yeah! Just a week with the family, but I can't complain" I chuckled nervously. "And you?" I asked as there had been absolutely no trace of him on social media except for some pre-shot branded content.
"Yeah, I went to Turkey" he replied and I couldn't hide the surprised look on my face.
"Oh! Did you- did you see Dilara again?" I blurted out uncontrolledly.
"Um... yeah" he replied, but our conversation got interrupted there.

"Bea! We're waiting!" Claudio exclaimed from a few metres away as he stood in front of the meeting room and pointed at his watch.
"Sorry- I... gotta go" I muttered under my breath and pushed my way past Kenan as my mind was full with pictures of him and Dilara living out a summer romance. Why did he go to Turkey? Why did he meet with her? Was I making assumptions and maybe he just bumped into her somewhere by chance, casually? Urgh, all these thoughts were killing me and I could barely focus on the meeting, thank God it wasn't an important one.

When we were done, me and Claudio headed to the canteen and stood in line to get our pasta while we talked about some work stuff. Lunch had been a huge point on my presidency agenda: our canteen had been expanded for all the teams to lunch together, our Next Gen teams, as well as the women's and men's first team. And all the staff too, especially top management. We all were a family and the board shouldn't leave and get their food at some fancy city centre restaurant, but stay with their players instead. I loved the buzzing atmosphere we now had at lunchtime.

"Over there" Claudio pointed at an empty table and I just nodded, not really looking where we were going. With my luck, it was just the table next to some men's first team players.
"Ciao Beatrice!" Cambiaso exclaimed ecstatically, with Kenan next to him looking up from his pasta dish.
"Ciao Andrea" I replied and smiled at all the others at the table too.
"You're not greeting me?" Claudio joked and faked punching Andrea.
