🎶 One Moment in Time — Whitney Houston 🎶

Staying away from Kenan was hard, especially when I saw him basically every day, but to be honest, it felt good to be single. I got to focus on work instead of always having someone else at the back of my mind. Seeing Dean, was harder. Every time I tried to seek eye contact, he'd turn away disappointedly and I felt empty without his friendship. But we were broken beyond repair and I definitely couldn't blame him for that.

The club had already announced his departure to Atletico for the next season, and obviously, rumours were swirling like crazy, especially with the fact that Kenan had broken off his engagement just shortly after our break-up. That's why it was crucial that me and him would never be seen together and when we were in a professional setting, that we would keep a healthy distance. Uncle John had also insisted with our PR team to put out a statement that the break-ups stood in no connection to each other and asking for privacy for the four of us. What a lie.

From what I could see on social media, Dilara had started a pretty nice new life with my 30 mill, having moved to London and continuing her studies there. She was in her party girl and influencer era and who could blame her - by being Kenan's girlfriend she had gathered up some following and now she was just trying to live her best life, after I took her dream away from her.

The end of the season had almost come and summer was around the corner - but first, we had a Champions League final to win. Despite everything, we had managed to win the league and the cup, which was a strong signal to my haters. Though of course, they didn't care about me, because it was the players who won the trophies, never the management. But I knew what I had accomplished: it was me putting the team together, its staff and trying to make it work. And even though I sure as hell messed up in a lot of aspects, I still delivered.

I had travelled to Berlin, where the CL final was going to be held, with the squad and was now staring at the ceiling as I laid on my bed, the night before the game. It had been a crazy year - getting elected as President, signing Kenan and bringing him back home, meeting Dilara for the first time, celebrating Christmas with Dean's family, almost wanting to sell the house, sleeping with Kenan, breaking up with Dean, paying Dilara money to leave for good... It had definitely been eventful.

I was snapped out of my trance when I heard my cell phone vibrating and picked it up. I snorted out a laugh when I saw the message and opened my Instagram.

It's about you getting to lift that trophy because you sweat blood and tears for it
