🎶 Manic Monday — The Bangles 🎶

"What's going on here?" I yelled as I yanked open my office door to see everyone huddling and gossiping with each other.
"Yildiz is here for tests!" a girl squealed excitedly, making me raise my eyebrows.
"And that's a reason for neglecting your work? You guys have seen him a million times" I huffed and took a few steps back to shut my door again.
"Yeah, but it's like this surgery has made him even more attractive, I swear" I heard some girls whisper and I rolled my eyes.

It bothered me how other women saw Kenan and what thoughts went through their heads. But I wasn't really one to act jealous because we still were in an awkward phase and seemed both stuck in it, not knowing our way out. A knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts and I shouted at whoever it was to get in, which made me see the very handsome face of my vice, Claudio.

"You're not doing our injured soldier the honours downstairs?" he chuckled sarcastically as he walked over to my desk and I rolled my eyes and huffed frustratedly.
"No interest to give him even more of an ego boost. He already has the whole female employees drooling over a two-hour visit for medical tests" I scoffed.
"Imagine when he returns to the training pitches! The bleachers will be full with them" he joked, almost howling and I just shot him a grimace.
"Now, what were you actually here about?" I huffed, trying to change the topic quickly.

Turned out he wanted to yap about the newly revealed third jersey, which he found ugly and insulted the people in charge for it in every possible way. He went on for over an hour and lunchtime came around thankfully, putting an end to the conversation as we walked downstairs to the canteen. My eyes scanned the room and I saw that Kenan had stayed for lunch, obviously happy to see his teammates again, which were huddled around him, wanting to know everything about his well-being.

I took a plate of lasagne before looking for a table with the food tray in my hands.
"Bea! Here!" Cambiaso shouted me over to the one table I had wanted to avoid. I sat down right across from Kenan and nodded at him to acknowledge his presence before I pushed a fork of food into my mouth.
"You're not asking your beloved ex how he's doing? You weren't even there for his tests and physio!" Miretti scolded me jokingly and I shot him a glare.

"How are you doing Kenan?" I asked sweetly and pressed my lips together into a smile.
"Could be better. Could use a bit more action, I'm quite bored waiting for the days to pass all alone" he replied and winked at me, making me roll my eyes. He just wanted sex, that was what he meant with action.
"Yeah, by the way, I came to visit you yesterday but you didn't answer your doorbell" Fagioli inserted himself and my heart almost stopped. We wouldn't hear the end of it if we told them we were living together.

"Oh... um... I must have fallen asleep early, the painkillers kind of do this to me... Sorry!" Kenan quickly stammered together an excuse.
"Yeah, no worries, but we should do something all together soon, it can get lonely and depressive all alone" he replied, knowing what he was talking about.
"Sure, we can all come over tonight!" Miretti exclaimed and clapped his hands before pointing at our usual group.
"Eh... Maybe we should do it at mine, you know... It is work to host, all the dirty dishes afterwards... He wouldn't manage..." I blabbered.

"No way I'm coming to yours ever again!" Cambiaso exclaimed and made some extensive Italian hand gestures. "Last time, I spent twenty-five minutes finding a parking spot in the damn city and after, I forgot where I had parked it and spent another half hour looking for it" he complained and I snorted out a laugh, like everyone else on the table.
"Thank God your skills were good enough to allow you to become a pro, because I really can't think of any job you could have done without being a menace to society" I giggled and patted his shoulder as I covered my mouth with my handkerchief as I was struggling with speaking and laughing.

Everyone else on the table joined in, much to Andrea's dismay.
"Anyways, you'll love to hear then that I moved into a house on the hills" I added with a smile playing on my lips.
"What?! When? Why don't we know?!" Fabio exclaimed while Kenan concentrated on his food, trying to act unsuspicious.
"It just... happened" I simply replied and shrugged.
"Fine, then at yours, let's make it a housewarming, we'll bring the girls" Nicolo said and grinned widely.

"You already have a date for the night?" Andrea asked as he leaned to me and wiggled with his eyebrows.
"Why? You know a friend?" I asked and batted my eyelashes innocently, knowing that this wasn't  what he meant, but he tilted his head at me.
"Actually, I heard Kenan is single" he replied and smiled at me sweetly. Poor Kenan started choking and coughing on his food, which earned him some howls and laughter from Fabio and Nicolo.

I was about to give a witty clapback, when we were interrupted by a girl approaching our table.
"Hey Kenan" she said and I looked at her from head to toe. She was wearing simple business attire, so she must work in some office around here.
"Oh, hi Gianna" he replied nonchalantly as he turned a bit towards her.
"I just... wanted to ask how you're doing" she said in a flirty voice and even blushed slightly. In the corner of my eyes, I saw the other boys exchange stupid glances.

"Um... good, thanks. I'll start physio officially in four weeks" he replied and smiled at her. Why was he giving her so much information?!
"You know, Gianna... We were just talking about... we're having a small gathering and were talking about bringing dates, maybe you'd like to come with Kenan?" Andrea suggested and I was ready to slap him now.
"Oh... I'm... I... erm... You know... I can't really pick you  up- or um, anyone for that matter, because um... well" Kenan stammered and pointed at his knee, seemingly overwhelmed by the situation he had been put in.

"Oh, don't worry, we can meet there" the girl replied quickly. Of course.
"Perfect!" Cambiaso exclaimed and clapped his hands. "What's your address Bibi?" he asked, turning to me.
"Um... It's more of a I'll send you the coordinates situation. You know, it's on... private grounds" I replied as I stood up and stared down that poor Gianna girl who I was hoping was shitting her pants by now. "I'll send them to Andrea and you can forward them to the others" I said to my friend sitting next to me before grabbing my phone from the table and not breaking eye contact with Gianna, even when I started to walk away.
