🎶 Fight for You — Jason Derulo 🎶Uncle John and Beatrice were right. I wasn't one to go down without a fight, and sure as hell not against a little girl that thought she could play me. And that's how I ended up in front of the modern apartment building on the hills above Turin instead of the plane to Paris with the squad that travelled to their UCL knockout game.
When I rang the bell, my fingers were slightly shaking, but I quickly brushed away the nervousness. I had closed million-dollar deals and handled crazy, old businessmen. This was going to be a walk in the park.
When Dilara opened the door for me, she looked very confused.
"Kenan's not here in case you were looking to get into his bed again" she snarled, thinking she had the upper hand here.
"In case you forgot, I'm his boss and know where he is right now. But in fact, I came here to see you" I said and smiled before pushing my way inside, without waiting for an invitation because I surely wasn't getting one.The apartment was neat and cleaned, and my eyes fell on the living room drawer with framed pictures on it. One with Kenan's parents and the happy couple.
"What do you want?" Dilara huffed annoyedly and I turned around to her.
"How much?" I asked.
"What?" she asked back confusedly. "What do you mean?" she asked again.
"How much for you to... leave and never bother anyone of us again" I replied and smiled sweetly at her.But she started laughing instead, which threw me off a bit, but I had calculated that scenario too.
"You seriously think money can buy you everything?" she gasped and I raised my eyebrows.
"Of course it can. You can drop that fake noble behaviour. Everything has a price. Especially people." I replied sternly. Instead of answering, she turned around and went to her kitchen to fetch herself a glass of water."This is unbelievable. Wait until I tell the newspapers about this pathetic try of yours" she laughed.
"Oh, you mean... La Repubblica? You... should do some better research. We own that newspaper. Which means we have a lot to say in the media business, so, I wouldn't even try running to another paper if I were you because it's useless" I told her, which seemed to take her aback a bit."You're awful. First, you try to steal my fiancé and now you try to steal my whole life!" she exclaimed.
"The only one trying to steal a life here, is you. I haven't been interested too much in you to be honest, but I had to come here prepared. You used to follow fan accounts for me on Instagram a few years ago. You have gone to every single restaurant me and Kenan had ever posted being together - it's even saved on your highlights. You're trying to be a copy of me but as always, the imitation will never become an original" I sighed and tapped on her kitchen counter, not breaking eye contact for a second."Whatever. It's me with him now! While you're left all alone by everyone but your old folks" she chuckled.
"You see... That's where you're wrong. It's you who's going to be alone" I said as I walked closer to her while she looked at me confusedly.
"Ah, the innocence." I sighed. "You think this was a one-time slip-up? Kenan and I both were sober, fully conscious and consenting to what we were doing. We are like magnets that come back around again and again." I said before smiling and continuing. I was so sure of having the upper hand here."You may go ahead and marry him,... and then what? One night away from you at some Champions League game I'm attending too and... we'll be back in bed together. You get pregnant, he'll still be away. You may have one kid, two kids, I'll still be around. And I'm sure as hell getting pictured with him - my family's PR machine will come up with some tragic story about an unhappy marriage and the first love that always finds his way again, star-crossed lovers, some shit like this, blah blah blah, people love unreachable romantic love stories" I continued while playing with my fingers on the top of the kitchen counter.
"You're... vile if you want to do this to a family... and kids" she said with a cracky voice.
"You're vile if you want to force a man who's clearly in love with someone else into an unhappy marriage" I countered.
"You lot are awful! Acting like money rules the world and you can drive over people's feelings with that!" she sobbed and I gave her a sympathetic smile.
"Oh, honey. But that's just how it is and deep down, you know that too" I sighed."Kenan's father will hear about this and he won't be happy!" she said angrily, raising her index finger.
"Kenan's father is a pathetic man who projects everything he couldn't reach in life onto his son. In his eyes, you're the perfect match for Kenan because he can control you and that's the only thing he wants: perfect control of his son's life. You're just a doll to him, that could be replaced by any other random girl. You're nothing special" I sighed. Poor girl looked on the verge of tears now but I had to remain steady, I wasn't going to leave until I had gotten what I wanted."I just wanted a good life... Wear nice clothes, eat in fine restaurants, travel around the world, have a guy who loves me by my side..." she sniffled and wiped her nose. "You ruined it, you ruined everything!" she shouted.
"I'm not trying to come across as the good person here, because... I'm not. What I did to Dean was unforgivable. But I will fight until the end for Kenan, because I love him" I replied calmly.
"And what about what you did to me?" she exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, Dilara. But I owe you nothing. Kenan is the one who owes you faithfulness, and frankly - a girl deserves someone better than a guy who cheats" I sighed. There were a few minutes of eerie silence until I spoke up again.
"You can have your nice life: travelling, eating out, shopping... I'm asking once again now: How much?"
