user2 Lollll girl what does that even mean 😭😂"Good morning" I greeted some people along the way until I arrived at the examination room. Kenan had already been through X-rays and the MRT, so now everyone was awaiting the doctor's diagnosis.
"Hey" I said softly as I walked up to Kenan who was laying on the medical bed with a tense expression. I softly stroked his hair and he looked at me, slightly twitching his lips into a small smile. In the corner of the room I saw my driver Francesco looking at the scene, trying to suppress a giggle. I just shot him a glare and he quickly picked up a gossip magazine from the coffee table nearby which he opened to start reading."Buongiorno Mr Yildiz... Oh, Miss Agnelli" the doctor said surprisedly when he saw me and I quickly took a few steps back from the bed, feeling as if I had been caught. "I thought we were meeting you at the headquarters to brief you, but now that you're here we can discuss the next steps" he said.
"I thought it would accelerate things. Is your agent coming? Have you notified your parents?" I asked Kenan now."My agent should be here any minute. My... mum's landing in the afternoon" he replied.
"I'm here!" a middle-aged man, who must have been the agent, exclaimed as he got inside. He walked over to Kenan and greeted his client, quietly exchanging some words, before we all took our seats and Kenan sat up a bit on his bed.
"I'll... cut this short, because there is no good news. You have torn the ACL in your left knee and... I'm strongly advising surgery." the doctor explained and I let out a shaky breath. This was hard. He was in his best years, this could mean an end to his career if he never fully recovered. And surgery was risky too, it didn't guarantee a 100% success rate. Kenan just stared at the wall and I could see his eyes watering.
"12 months?" I asked the obvious questions.
"We shouldn't rush it in any case, but yes, with the right training and fitness, he should be back in a year" he replied."Where do you recommend him having surgery?" his agent asked.
"Maybe... we should give Mr Yildiz a few minutes and let him be a part of this himself" I suggested as I felt him being sidelined with all of us asking questions and making decisions above his head. We looked at each other a bit weary until the doctor nodded and we all stood up to make our way outside.
"No! I mean, yeah... I need a moment, but... she stays" Kenan spoke up and I could already imagine the three men grinning and gossiping as soon as they'd leave the room. The door closed behind us and I walked closer to Kenan before deciding to sit down on the bed next to him. He automatically slung his arm around my hip and looked at me.
"Do you think I can come back like before?" he asked and I pressed my lips into a small smile.
"Nh-nh" I replied and shook my head. His jaw fell a bit and his expression looked hurt, but I leaned in and tucked back a strand of hair that fell onto his front.
"You'll come back better. Because you love to make me proud" I teased him and he grinned."You think I should get surgery?" he asked.
"It's going to hurt like hell, but yes. You're in your mid-twenties, not thirties. You need this" I replied.
"Ok" he sighed and nodded.
"You ready to let them back in?" I asked.
"If they haven't disappeared to the cafeteria to make up scenarios about us having sex on this bed right now..." he joked and I had to laugh."He's ready" I said as I opened the door and found the agent, doctor and Francesco waiting outside with expectant faces.
"Very well, so... What have you decided, Mr Yildiz?" the doc asked.
"I'm... doing the surgery" he replied and nodded decidedly.
"Very well. We have a trusted orthopaedic surgeon in Innsbruck and we'll try and schedule surgery as soon as possible" the doctor replied."Will your mother stay for a longer period of time in Turin? Not asking because she cooks that bomb Baklava but because you'll need someone around and... since you've broken up with the perfect home girl... You're kind of alone" his agent asked and I felt kind of uncomfortable in this.
"Thanks for reminding me. Anyways, I'll ask her... She has to get back at some point because..." he said quietly, almost not wanting to admit this. "Dad's sick" he sighed and I quickly turned my head to him."Oh... I'm very sorry to hear that Kenan" his agent mumbled.
"Ok then... I'm sure that the club will be able to find you a nurse or caretaker for the first few weeks-" the doctor said, but I cut him off.
"No- no, he's not a grandpa, I'll... I'll take care of him... and Francesco will help!" I offered and my driver looked up in surprise, pointing at himself as he raised his eyebrows. Also the doc and agent looked surprised. "And my cousin, Umberto. He's... kind of not working so I'll make sure he'll do something useful with his time" I added, to make myself sound less attached to Kenan than I actually was.He just sat there with an amused grin on his face looking at the scene unfolding in front of him.
"Fine, as long as Kenan feels himself taken care of. Just... let us know when you'll have scheduled the surgery" the agent said and stood up.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll have time. Heard I'll have lots of that for the next few months" Kenan mumbled and we all had to chuckle a bit. I took his crutches and handed them over to him, for which he thanked me with a smile. Everyone shook hands and said goodbye before walking out of the examination room.Francesco walked ahead, with me and Kenan following behind.
"You know that Umbi and me will have the time of our lives together... I won't even need you" he said proudly, trying to wind me up about the situation a few moments ago.
"Mhm, I'm sure you'll have such a fun time with him blowing you" I bantered back and he made a twisted face of utter disgust.
"Get that image out of my head, now!" he groaned and I just laughed."Francesco!" Kenan said a bit louder and he turned around to us. "Um... do you think you could pick my mum up later? I should text her if someone's coming or she needs to get a taxi..." he asked.
"Of course, Mr Yildiz, if that's fine with Miss Agnelli?" my driver asked me.
"You know what? I'll be more than happy to pick her up myself" I said, a sweet smile playing on my lips.
"Oh gosh, I'll tell her to never get on that flight" Kenan sighed, while I just grinned to myself.
