Tw: mention of disordered eating
Taylor truly saved us.
The next few weeks flew by, it felt like we were a proper family. We did family activities, like baking, movie nights and hiking. Of course I still had a wobble every now and then, but I really think I've started to be more comfortable around Taylor. I can see similarities between us, which reminded me that I actually had a blood relation with her.It was a Saturday morning, I got up and went for a shower. I looked into the mirror, noticing my grey eyes were slowly becoming more blue, more full of life again. Although I still looked significantly underweight, my appetite wasn't great as usual. I sighed, hating the way I looked.
"Havyn!" I heard my name being called from downstairs. I quickly hopped out of the shower, got changed and headed downstairs.
"Hey." I smiled as I sat on a bar stool at the breakfast bar, looking over at Taylor.
"There you are," she smiled, handing me a plate of toast, "hungry?"
"Not really." I mumbled, poking the toast.
"Try a little for me, please." She rested her head on her hands as she lent against the counter towards me.
I nodded slowly taking a small bite, "where's Theo and Maisie?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Playing in the living room," Taylor smiled as she picked dibbles off the counter, "I've a meeting with my lawyer this evening about them."
I almost felt my ears shoot up, "why?"
"To try and adopt them." Taylor smiled.
My fears settled, "thanks."
She kissed my forehead, before washing up some dishes. I quickly put my toast in the bin and helped with clean up, hoping Taylor wouldn't notice.
"I can put them to bed then." I offered.
"I was going to get my mom to come over, you're only thirteen, Haves." She didn't look convinced.
"I always looked after them." I laughed a little.
"Doesn't mean you should now," Taylor sighed, "you need looked after as well." Apparently she did notice, not eating with Taylor watching me every minute was harder than I thought.

"Are you sure you don't want my mom over?" Taylor was panicking as she was about to leave.
"Taylor, we're okay I promise." I had Maisie on my hip. Taylor just nodded, unconvinced.
"Okay, please call me if you need anything." She suggested as back up.
"We will, you're going to be late." I replied.
"Right, bye," she kissed Maisie's head as she wrapped an arm around me. Before ruffling Theo's hair, "love you guys."
She left. I sighed.
"Movie?" Theo looked up with hopeful eyes.
"Of course." I smiled, leading them into the living room. I settled them down, before heading to get some snacks for them. It was only 6.38pm, which meant they only had an hour and a bit before bed. I sat down beside them both, one on each side. Theo put his head on my upper arm as Maisie decided to crawl into my lap, cuddling in close. I smiled at their cuteness, glancing at what movie they chose; finding Nemo.
I checked my phone to see if any thing had gone on when I was away, no messages from friends or family. Just one from Taylor twenty minutes ago,
"All okay? x"
