"Happy birthday!"
It's my 14th birthday. We've known Taylor for a year now. I've been on this planet for fourteen years, and this last year has been my favourite.
"What are you wishing for?" Maisie squealed with excitement, she asks me this every year.
I smiled at her, staring at the candles in front of me. The flame was dancing in the small breeze from the window beside us. I had wished for the same thing every year, to get us out of our old lives and it happened. I looked up at Taylor, knowing she gave me that wish. She was our dream come true.
Taylor was standing smiling at me proudly, I could see tears in her eyes. We both knew what my wish was going to be.
For this life to never change.
It was 12pm and Taylor had planned a party for tonight. I didn't realise when Taylor planned a party, it was more like an awards show. She'd planned musicians, games, food and there was over 100 guests coming. I definitely didn't know half of them. Maisie and Theo are going to stay until 8pm and then Andrea is taking them for a sleepover. Maisie is more excited than me, wanting to twin with me. She's had her dress picked out for weeks. Theo, on the other hand, could think of nothing worse. He was begging Travis to let him stay at his parent's place instead, but Travis insisted that he spent some time celebrating his sister's birthday.

Taylor was tidying up the kitchen after her baking my cake. I was sitting on the counter beside her, just enjoying her presence.
Everything that had happened this year was because of her. She saved us and provided a safe place for us to call home for the first time ever. I will never be able to thank her enough for all of this, even though she's still fighting the adoption process for Theo and Maisie. I analysed her in front of me with her hair tied back into a messy bun. I smiled, realising she was my mom and that thousands of her fans would love to be in my position. I knew I was lucky and the way she saved us made me look at her in such a different light. I never would've thought that Taylor Swift would be such a normal person to me, like of course we have paparazzi everywhere we go but little moments like these, show me how normal she is. I just never imagined my life would ever turn out like this.
"Havie?"
I zoned back in, catching Taylor's eye. I was just sitting staring at her with a smile on my face. Her face softened once she realised I was okay.
"You okay?" She stood in front of me.
I nodded, "thank you for this."
"For what? The party?" She tilted her head slightly, looking confused.
"Well, yeah," I paused, "but more so, everything."
She just smiled and came towards me, wrapping me into a hug. I put my head on her shoulder, glad that she's my mom.
"Anything for you," she kissed the side of my head, cupping my face in her hands. She studied my face for a moment almost like she was in awe. I glanced away, my cheeks went rosy feeling slightly insecure.
She directed my face towards her again, looking into my eyes, "you've changed so much, sweet girl, you look healthy and happy."
I smiled, "thanks Tay."
We had been living really well, not having as many down days recently. My eating was improving with proper meals, however I didn't force myself to have a slice of cake and I knew Taylor noticed. I'm still working on it. Theo's head has been completely normal and Maisie has just been living her carefree life to the best.
"Mommy!!" Maisie came running in as Taylor turned to smile at her. My heart bursts every time I hear them call Taylor that, knowing they're safe and sound here.
"What's up, Maisie moo?" Taylor engulfed her into a hug.
"Theo is trying to ruin my dress for tonight." Maisie looked distraught.
Taylor looked at me, smiling at their silliness as she carried Maisie upstairs. I wandered into the living room to be greeted by Travis watching the tv, some football game.
"Hey Haves," He smiled as I sat next to him, "how's the birthday?"
"Good, when does the party start?" I asked.
"8pm," he stared at the screen, "I can't believe it's been a year of this life." He smiled, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
"I know." My voice came out as a whisper.
"I'm proud of you, you know that? We all are." He squeezed me tighter, saying words that still felt so unfamiliar. Even when Taylor makes sure we know how proud she is of us.
"Thanks, Travy." I lent against him as the door opened. Taylor walked in with Theo on her hip and Maisie running in front of her. Maisie was already in her dress, she looked so adorable. Taylor put Theo down as she came towards us, smiling at her happy little family.
Theo jumped up onto the couch beside me as Taylor sat on Travis' lap. He welcomed her by wrapping his other arm around her, allowing her to get comfy. She played with his fingers as she watched Maisie in front of her, who was doing a little dance twirling in the middle of the room, making us all giggle.
"Mommy, can we dance now?" She whined, standing at the edge of the couch staring at Taylor, tugging on Taylor's sleeve.
Taylor giggled, "we need to get ready, baby, so we can dance tonight!"
Maisie nodded in agreement and went to play with her toys, shortly after Theo joined her as well. I glanced at Taylor and Travis, who were in the same position just watching the tv. Taylor was lent right back into him, allowing him to rest his head on her shoulder. They always found these moments of intimacy with all the madness going on. They worked their relationship so well, especially with three kids in the mix.
"You okay?" Travis stroked my arm with his thumb, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I nodded, catching Taylor's eye, "I'm okay, when do we need to get ready?"
Taylor nodded, "actually we should start now."
She stood up to lead me up the stairs. She pecked Travis on the lips, while taking my hand.
"Let's see this dress." She beamed.
