Taylor and I got ready in time for the party, she offered to do my hair allowing me to choose what I wanted done with it. She started straightening it, framing it perfectly around my petite facial features. I was still trying to recover and gain some healthy weight, which is harder than it seems.

I picked at my freshly painted nails in an anxious way, realising how many people were coming over for me. Knowing I'd be centre of attention terrified me.

"It'll be okay," Taylor placed her hand on my shoulder, "if you're too anxious you come get me or Travis, alright? And we'll sort it."

I gave her a small smile, not wanting to ruin the party for them either. Taylor had put her blood, sweat and tears into this for me, wanting to show me that I have loads of people who care. Deep down I knew I'd rather just have a movie night with my family.

"Are Lola, Ella and Elliot coming?" She asked, trying to take my mind off it.

"Yeah, not for too long though." I replied, keeping my spirits up for her. She finished straightening my hair and wrapped her arms around me from behind.

"I love you so much, Havie." She whispered before kissing my forehead and started doing her own hair.

"Hay hay!! When's the party starting?" Maisie clung onto my leg. We were in my room with Taylor, who was opening my dress she'd got for me.

"Really soon. Why don't you go see where Theo and Travis are? Make sure they're ready?" I smiled, twirling a strand of her hair in my finger.

She nodded, running out of the room and stomping the whole way down the stairs. I turned to Taylor, she was holding up the most gorgeous dress I'd ever seen. It was a black sleeveless dress that came down just to the centre of my thighs.

Taylor was in mom mode, trying to pull it down slightly more. I giggled at her silliness as she stepped back to view the dress on me.

"Havyn, you're beautiful." She had tears in her eyes.

"Tay, please don't cry." I giggled at her.

She sighed with a smile on her face, pulling me into her embrace.

"Happy birthday, Havie." She whispered into my hair.

I smiled, "thanks mom."

I still wasn't completely used to the name change, calling her mom, even though she deserved the title. It just felt weird on my lips when I said it, when I think of the word mother I think of all the times I was too scared to go and get a drink downstairs because of my adoptive parents. I wanted to change those memories so much, swap them out for the memories taylor has created. I just couldn't yet, my mind can't stop the trauma from overcoming everything.

Taylor took my hand and led me downstairs, she opened the door. Poking her head around it, "are you ready to see the birthday girl?"

I heard movement and Maisie shouting 'yes!', before Taylor opened the door wider allowing them to see me. I smiled at them, slightly embarrassed but Taylor held onto my hand the whole time. Maisie ran up to hug me as Theo complemented my dress.

"You look gorgeous, Havyn." Travis smiled, giving me a quick hug.

"Thanks." I beamed.

The door bell rang, Taylor sprung up from the edge of the couch. Heading towards the masses of guests, who had arrived suddenly. I felt anxious, picking at my nails again. Travis stood by me, rubbing my back with reassurance.

"Hey, you're okay." He whispered with a smile. I nodded at him, hoping I'd survive this night without anything happening.
