A/N: I've no idea how these things work in courts so it's probably wrong- sorry!

Taylor's pov

I sat with Maisie beside me, focusing on her rather than the huge court room we sat in. Her wide brown eyes looked scared as she scanned the entire room. She looked terrified but she was trying to hide it. I placed my hand on her shoulder, pulling her closer to me. She looked up and gave me a small smile.

"I really want you to be my mommy." She whispered, her eyes brimmed with tears. We were all counting on this to go in our favour.

"Me too." I kissed the top of her head, catching Havyns eye. She was sitting next to Maisie, I could tell she was anxious as well. She just smiled at me, holding Theo close to her.

The judge shouted to get everyone attention. I shuffled closer to Travis, needing his support and reassurance. Today we had to fight for our family. He squeezed my hand gently, before scooping Maisie onto his lap. Havyn scooted straight over to me with Theo following in suit. We were all so nervous of the unknown. Havyn rested her head on my shoulder, providing herself with physical reassurance.

"Miss Swift, come forward." I swallowed back my fears, standing up. With one last hand squeeze from Travis, I walked up to the front table. My heart was thumping loudly as every step I took closer to the table, knowing I was going to get millions of questions thrown at me.

I sat down next to Chris, glad to see a familiar face. My knee bounced with anxiety as the lawyers started to question me. The questions ranged from telling me I was a bad mother to asking about my career. It baffled me that because I had a full time successful career meant I was a bad mom.

"So, Miss Swift, how do you plan on looking after these children when you go on tour?"

"Objection. Irrelevant." Chris argued.

"Overruled." The judge stared at me.

"My priority is their health and wellbeing, if you're implying that I'll be a bad mother because of my career is inappropriate and frankly, sexist. If I were to tour, they can decide if they would like to come or not and either way I'll support them. It takes a village and we've got a strong one." As I spoke I caught Havyns eye, she was smiling proudly. I realised no one's ever fought for them before, which broke my heart.

After I was finished being questioned, we had a break. We sat in a cafe near by, trying to figure out what else we could do. Travis was up next and I could tell he was nervous. He was trying not to show it but I could see through him.

I held Theo close to me as he was being extra clingy today with everything going on, which I didn't blame him for at all.

"Trav, you've got this." I whispered to him, reassuring him as much as I can. He just nodded, squeezing my hand under the table.

"Tay, I think you did really well. I think we've a chance." Havyn was trying to bring a light to the conversation.

I smiled at her as Maisie showed us her drawing of our family. Travis held it, staring at it for a while. It was the usual five year old stick man picture but today it was more special than usual.

"Tay."

I turned around to see Havyn standing staring intently at me. Travis had taken the little two ahead of us, while we went to the bathroom. I looked at my daughter, seeing the pain and fear in her eyes of the possibility of losing her siblings.

"Thank you for doing this," her words were a mumble as she looked down at the floor, "it means the world to all of us. You've fought so hard."

I pulled her into a hug, "I hope it's hard enough."
