Chapter 43

Katie's POV

I stood by the tree and William peeped too,  Alex suddenly appeared causing William to jump back in shock.

"What...what just happened?" He whisper yelled moving closer to me and away from Alex.

Alex ignored him and looked at them before pulling me away from William. "Why are you here?" He asked.

"Are we..... ignoring the fact that you appeared out of nowhere?" William asked and I nodded with a grin.

"Are you even a vampire?.." we looked back when we suddenly heard noise of chaos.

Like William had predicted the witches had suddenly started killing the ghouls while Astella's mother started to hurriedly complete the ritual.

"We should go now" Alex spoke.

"W-what?" I asked.

"A-alex, I do not think I can do it" I rushed out before he can leave.

"You can do it....I know you can" he spoke staring down at me.

I gulped, "N-no, I-i can no..." I started

But my dilemma was ignored as they went there joining the fight. I stared at them my hands rubbing against each other in panic.

'you can do it' I thought about his words but I do not know how much I believe that.

I nodded to myself as I sneakily made my way to the place where the ruckus was happening. I tried to go unnoticed and move to Astella's mother before she can complete the ritual.

I was pulled back by someone. "I knew it" the voice said and I saw him...  'Ace' he was staring at me with rage and hatred in his eyes.

"You even have his eyes" he spoke in disgust holding my arm and I stared with wide eyes.

"Let go off me!" I tried pulled away from him as he brought out a sharp dagger
"Send my greetings to your parents"

But he was immediately pulled away by Alex that sent him into the nearest tree.

He nodded at me and I rushed back to Astella's mother, I pushed her away from the marking and I stood in between it. With no idea of what I am doing, not one.

"You stupid girl" she growled her original form surfacing, she grabbed my already sore wrist trying to pull me away from the marking and I pushed her again, she fell the the ground coughing.

I took a deep breath standing in the middle of the candles.

'what do I do?' I looked around at the chaos Alex was busy trying to get Ace away from me, William was fighting off whoever comes at him. The ghouls were fighting the witches.

The head witch ( Astella's mother) had gotten up, she stared at me and started chanting something under her breath, I closed my eyes taking a deep breath.

I can do this, I can do this.. for my parents and...for Mother.(Uriel).

I suddenly felt a pull.... Then I felt my consciousness slowly slipping away from me.

Author's POV.

The head witch slowly trailed off as she stared at Katherine that was now off the ground and levitating up in the air, her head thrown back.

"Oh, heavens" she spoke breathlessly as the others were still busy fighting but also noticed after a short moment.

"What Is happening?!" William asked Alex trying to fight off the witches attacking him.

Alex pulled the heart out of the witch's chest letting him fall to the ground as his body turned into ash, then he shrugged in reply to William's question.
