Crystal's POV
While I was diligently annotating my textbook about active transport, I felt a rush of chill rush up to me, and a rush of red ending up on my cheeks. I started feeling imbalanced and the headache I experienced last night returned. To add insult to injury, I felt a small lump in my throat, but it wasn't the emotional kind. I felt the contents of my protein shake was about to be released.

Said lump felt prickly and painful, and it tickled my nose. Holding my breath, I composed myself because I knew too well what to do.

"Cher?" I asked weakly, but enduring my symptoms restricted my voice to its absolute minimum.

My new classmate YZ glanced at me in horror and then raised his hand. "YZ, do you have to go?" My biology teacher asked.

"Hurry up, attend to Crystal!" YZ screamed. "She's dying!"

"Well I can tell she looks pretty unwell, but she's still alive." He went up to me and felt my forehead. "See? She just has a fever, maybe a bad cold at the very most. But can I see how bad the fever is?" I nodded and took my temperature, my heart beating louder than ever. I really hope I don't have to head to the hospital...

...38.6oC. Very surprising considering how much weight I've lost and how many protein shakes I've been

"You're smart to tell me, this is a fever that could get worse if you ignore it now. Moreover, you have PE later," my biology teacher told me gently, before looking at the class. "Anika, take her to the general office." Anika eagerly helped me pack up my belongings and led me to the general office.
Chloe's POV
Just as Crystal left, I developed a splitting headache and my nose started to run. But unlike Crystal, I decided to push it aside. No cold ever gets to me! After all, I'm going to make everyone gush over me for my robust body, perfect attendance.

Reaching out for my medicine at the back of my bag, I popped one headache pill into my mouth and washed it down with water. Then another running nose tablet into my mouth, down it with the water. Neither were drowsy so I continued as per normal after.

Everything seemed fine for Geography too. Ethan and I were multitasking between listening in about tourism and watching "When I fly towards you," something my sister watched on our family Netflix. After all, it's the start of the year. There's lots of time before the EOY exams and nothing is boring when Ethan is around. Rare moments with friends~

While we were stifling our giggles watching the drama, I felt my headache come back and now my whole head was a rock. Even the back of my head hurt. But I didn't want Ethan to find out and send me to the General Office, not like anyone would show the slightest bit of concern for me then. They will never care about whether I'm in 3 Faith or not. Just with that thought, I didn't feel the heat anymore.
Ethan's POV

"I really think you should head back," I said solemnly when I heard Chloe adopting the exact same symptoms as her big sister. "Like I know you may think 3 Faith won't care if you don't make it, but I do. Nicole (one of her only 3 friends in secondary school) cares too." She then sped off, leaving me in shock. Does Chloe really hate getting sick that much?

I placed my bag down and assembled "in register number", where we greeted Mr Han. He then started with his iconic torture session, making us do his infamous running sessions in 30 seconds. No sooner did I reach the halfway point of the runs than I hear a "thud" on the floor. I turned around to find Chloe on the floor.

"Hello? Hello?!" I bellowed frantically. "Chloe, you copy?" Her face was flushed and her breathing was laboured. I gingerly used the back of my hand to feel her forehead. Oh my goodness, this is a high fever in the works. Why was she pushing herself? Did she not know her cold would blow up this quickly?  But that wasn't important, what was important would be the next course of action.

"Mr Han, do I call an ambulance?" He turned around to see Chloe on the floor.

"You should send her to the sick bay first. The nurse there knows better." I was about to carry her to the sick bay since no one else would when Nicole rushed to my side.

"You won't be able to carry her alone with her weight on your hands. Come, let's work together." I accepted her help and we carried her to the sick bay. Mr Han carried her school bags to the sick bay, where the nurse simply dialed Chloe's parents and Mdm Yeo our form teacher. She was going to help get Chloe home safely.
