Chapter 24: Sports day

John's POV
"And overtaking Blueberry is none other than Crystal Ong of the Apple house!"

Knowing she would definitely win, I stepped further and further until I got into a good spot. I frantically adjusted my camera until it featured a good spot and clicked the button when the angle was just right. And my cheeks burnt slightly.

Why did Crystal look so gorgeous drenched in sweat? She seemed pretty when she was an exhausted mess, and she seemed to radiate even brighter when thanking all her supporters in that state. I sneaked in another photo, hoping to showcase the camaraderie of teammates during sports day. Hopefully Mr Lee doesn't see right through me and call me unprofessional for multiple photos of the same person.
Ethan's POV
The library
The minutes were running out. I had 4 troops on my China troop, and Chloe's final troop in Japan. When it was my turn, it was an easy decision. I decided to attack all my troops on Chloe's troop. Bam! I have effortlessly eliminated all the Olives.

Chloe stared at me in horror as Anika stroked her back. Nicole on the other hand slapped me on the back. "HAHAHA!" Nicole shouted. "Now that's my Ethan."

"Shut up," I told her coldly. "I need to focus."

There was just five minutes on the clock. I had the opportunity to examine everyone's moves and decided which troop I wanted to eliminate. The tension was rising as the blueberry, lemon and apple house all fought for their lives to take over one another's troops. Everyone was capturing one another and it was soon my turn. I had the chance to draw a card, so I did and got 10 extra troops. I then decided to take over all of the remaining troops and fortified within my own.

"And the winner is the Plum house!"

Nicole grabbed me by the hand and took a selfie with me. She then messaged the 8 point compass chat:

Nicole: Ethan is bringing winner home for his house Plum!

Crystal: haha, do you think I'd be surprised? He was already yapping about the scientific calculator even when we didn't go deep into it. He's so left brained

John: I'm deployed at her area for relay, and she won for Apple.

Ethan: what the sigma? I'm so happy for you Crystal 🥳 Girl Guides raised you well

YZ: so what about our dear ✨Chloe✨ also doing the Risk Mind Games?

Ethan: she's last 🥲

Nicole: says the person that successfully eliminated her 😂 and for such a dedicated artist how surprised would I be??
Anika's POV
School hall
Captains: is that Apple?

Apple: ain't no other house

Captains: is that Apple?

Apple: we flex those crowns! Boom shakalaka boom boom shakala boom we up up! We top top! We boom boom! Go...APPLE!

The atmosphere was bright with cheers. Everyone screamed with their hearts and souls. All of their energy is contagious. I'm sure even Ethan did his best leading the cheers.

And then came the award ceremony. When it was announced Apple has won the girls upper secondary relay, the whole school screamed, it was hilarious. But also uplifting. Crystal's influencer powers really went school wide, huh?

"LET'S GO APPLE LET'S GO!" We cheered in between claps.

And when it was Ethan's time to get his medal for board games, I held her hands with Crystal and we counted down. "ETHAN!" We screamed alongside his new best friend Simon.
Simon's POV
Simon: good job out there, Ch- Crystal.

Crystal: double thanks, especially for calling me by name.

Simon: of course. We gotta break the curse. And you're not going to hang with Samantha and gang, are you?

Crystal: haha, no. I worked my butt off this, so I'm going to rest. I'm hanging with them tomorrow though; provided I don't get sick.

Simon: your body looks really strong to tolerate so much walking in so many forms, I think you just care about your health more than others. See ya. (Turns to Ethan, Nicole and Chloe) And who's ready for a 2 Faith mini reunion?
