Crystal's POV
"Come with me, Crystal," Mrs Nur said, motioning me to follow her. "I'm going to take you to the drama audition site." I could only follow her, trying my best to catch up to her.
Multi purpose room
I was asked to take a seat on the floor, where I was given a piece of paper. The list of roles for the females were long and varied, ranging from a teen actor to the mother of said teen actor. We were given time to make our choice.

For me, I read the personalities of both the main character and her idol. Since I was able to audition for two roles of my choosing, I decided to go with both. Their personalities were pretty similar anyway, not like I have to strain my voice to come off as more soft spoken.

Once I let the director's know my choice of role, they gave me the script for both roles. He also told me to prepare myself to play two songs of my choosing under 1 minute in the piano. I then looked at my script furiously, thinking long and hard about how I was going to portray each of their individual roles. Walking around, I recited the lines for my assigned characters, experimenting with different talking styles until the door opened.

"The next two auditionees, please come," the director announced. Mrs Nur proceeded to lead us into the audition room.
Audition room
After verifying our names, the musical director allowed us to start. We acted passionately from the core of our hearts, feeling every emotion from our auditioning characters. Sometimes, we'd throw in random hand gestures, but they were all relevant and filled with emotion. Our cheeks flushed from sometimes heated emotions, but we knew the burning cheeks would come to an end once we returned to being ourselves.

I heard silence when the audition ended. Did I overdo my acting?

"This is superb work," the musical director. "Especially for Crystal, who is actually a Girl Guide. Crystal, please proceed to the piano and tell us the two songs you would like to play for us."

"We will get there, one of our NDP songs and A Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman," I replied confidently, walking near the piano and bowing in front of it. I then pulled out my stool and then opened the lid of my piano, removing the cloth that protected the keys like a blanket. Taking a deep breath, I hit the first key.

The keys I pressed on created a gentle melody as I made it a point not to smash the keys. These songs were lyrical genre after all, so I had to make sure the way I play is the same way. When I played, my heart felt warm and fuzzy inside. It's like eating a bowl of my favourite ramen. I was focused for sure, but the atmosphere was anything but intense and I knew what Chloe was talking about at last...
Flashback
"And when he plays with warmth," Chloe rambled. "It's like small water droplets floating around and the music is so gentle. It's enough to go awwww or to make it better, when you and Ethan go on your first date!"*
Present day
And just like the Kousei she described so dearly, I ended off on a gentle note, and a fleeting, surreal silence. "Do you happen to take O Level Music under piano by any chance?" The audition director asked.

"No," I replied. "I taught myself."

"That was a spectacular performance indeed. Well done."

I couldn't believe my ears. Was I actually going to get it?
