Jennifer's POV
I'm going to be the student council president. Christina the vice student council president, Fiona Tan is a head of department of the student council exco and Fiona Chan is going to be the assistant company leader of girl guides. Lucas is the class monitor for our class. Shay is going to be Olive's house captain. Simon would be Apple's house captain. The school was bustling with excitement as everyone sent well wishes to everyone to the newly appointed student leaders and the graduating ones. But as an influencer, I definitely got the most.

"One for the team!" I chorused with my team as we took a selfie together. I giggled as I waited for Crystal to finish taking her photos with her friends.
"So Crystal, ready to take a photo together?" I asked. She nodded eagerly and we took a selfie together. I decided to message her the photo we took together. It's surreal to believe we'd go from influencing partners to secondary school Day 1s.*
The room was bustling with people tying the tie for one another and grooming. Yet there were photos exchanged and gifts exchanged too. Crystal and I received a bombardment of gifts, and we looked at one another sheepishly wondering how to bring them home...
"Jennifer! It's time for ushering duty!" I rushed down to usher the guest of honour for the ceremony into school.
Chloe's POV
"And now we're welcoming in all incoming class monitors." That sound felt a sheer mockery to my face. I saw Lucas walk up there with confidence and the grand music felt more like a mockery of how insignificant my role in 3 Faith was compared to my friends.
Each sentence introducing a different group of leaders was like being laughed at for perceptually being at the stands during the leaders' investiture. I couldn't hear the steps of the leaders walking in, but I'm sure each step was trampling on my heart. When it all ended, I sighed deeply. It was the start of my mocking session.
Why did I have to sing Christian songs? We're a mission school but that doesn't mean we have to commemorate all occasions with a "prayer" and "Christian song", right? I decided to "fall asleep" during these times. After all, it's not my investiture so I don't see why I should care about the school routines.
Crystal's POV
I had the honour of collecting the certificates for the Uniformed Groups CCA company leader! Walking up proudly on stage, I tugged my school tie one more time before getting on stage, waiting for my cue to get my set of certificates.
"Representing all the Uniformed Groups CCA Company Leaders is Ong Xu Yin Crystal," the emcee announced. "She will be the incoming company leader for Girl Guides." I went to the guest of honour and shook his hand, then the photography team took a photo of me. I was able to return to my spot when...
"FUCK YOU!"
All eyes were on my own sister who pointed the middle finger right in my direction. I furrowed my eyebrows for a second, praying a teacher would address the lack of respect for such a prestigious ceremony. My face flushed for all the incoming and outgoing student leaders. No person should ever be disrespecting this ceremony, no matter how jealous they may be.
To my relief (and surprise), Mrs Nur climbed up the stairs and pulled Chloe out for a much needed talk. She can't use her jealousy against everyone because I'm sure there are others feeling the same as she is, but chose to act like decent human beings despite that.
After the ceremony
Going back to her classroom
???: honestly I can't believe someone would jeer at the sec 3 leaders. They really didn't have any human decency to do that.
????: and it looked like Crystal. Like the person that jeered. Who would jeer over their own sister??
???: tell you what's worse. It couldn't be worse than being the sister of a company leader when you literally have just one group of friends. Rumour has it she does nothing at CCA and never bothered to make any CCA friends. Not like that social butterfly
????: I feel so bad for Crystal. She has to deal with her sister's shit for so much more than 6 hours a day
Crystal: how do you know we're sisters?
???: ah nothing, we see your story and the genetic difference between that girl and you is extremely small.
Crystal: good to know. If you excuse me, I've got an interview to attend.
