Hisoka's face became acquainted with her desk the moment she got into class, a tired noise leaving her.
"Deku," She said, glancing at him. "Remember how you mentioned you got your quirk late? Dude, you definitely could've been a quirkless hero."
Izuku's face was so startled that Shoto had to shake him to snap him out of it.
"What brought this on?" Shoto asked.
"One of my teachers for Commission training is quirkless, but that woman is as fast as Ingenium, and hits like a damn semi truck." Hisoka groaned. "I can barely even touch her! She's too good!"
Izuku seemed to brighten at this.
"And you said she's quirkless? That's incredible!" He commented.
"Eh. Maybe you two will meet someday."
"Everyone quiet down." Aizawa ordered. Once everyone was quiet, he said "Alright.... Today, we'll be practicing against class 1B for the upcoming provisional licence exam. Everyone go get your hero suits."
*A few moments later....*
"Are those your new swords?!" Mina asked excitedly.
Hisoka hesitantly nodded, staring at the two katanas. She hadn't unsheathed them yet.
"Let us see!" Kaminari begged.
"Alright, alright...." Hisoka relented.
She reached down, unsheathing the blades, her eyes widening. The two blades looked completely different, now being a solid black color, the darkness appearing to consume any light that came towards it. The edges of the blades were a crimson color, appearing to practically glisten in the light.
"Woah!" Tenya said from next to her. "If there was any doubt about them being yours, then there isn't any now."
"Just try to stay heroic, okay?" Mina said.
Hisoka rolled her eyes, saying "No, Ashido, I will not be a respectful member of society."
Soon enough, they were called away to prepare for the training. For the first round, it would be her, Ochako, Hanta, and Izuku. They'd be up against Monoma, Tetsutetsu, Kendo, and Shiozaki. The moment they went in, Hisoka got an odd feeling.
"Hey, let's be careful. I feel weird." Hisoka told her teammates.
"Okay." Izuku agreed. "Red Riot, you'll take on Tetsutetsu. You two are pretty evenly matched, so-"
Hisoka slit her wrist, pulling Izuku out of the way of a giant punch with a blood tendril.
"Hello, Deku!" Kendo shouted.
Hisoka reached for one of her blades, only to feel a tap on her shoulder.
"Gotcha!" Monoma hissed. "Come on, Akagura! Show me your power! Or are you that much of a coward?!"
"Shut up!" Hisoka growled, swinging the blood tendril at him.
She needed to take care if him. Monoma could copy their quirks. She had to capture him, right? She just needed to restrain him....
"Hold still, you fucker!" She snarled, swinging at him.
Monoma expertly dodged, mocking her.
"How pathetic!" He sneered. "Is this why Stain left you? Why you failed so much? Hey, that's probably why you had to sit around and watch your mother die!"
Hisoka saw red. At that moment, her quirk surged forth, and....
Blood popped from her body, making her tense up. The blood surged forth, and whatever was happening was causing it to detonate the moment it hit the air.
She screamed.
All blood kept gushing from her arm, lashing and bursting wildly at everything in her path, friend or foe.
"R- run!" She ground out, gripping her arm, wincing at how hot it felt. "Get away.... I can't.... I can't control it!"
And of course, that's when she seemingly blacked out.
.
Darkness. That was all Hisoka registered. She shuddered, reaching up towards her- wait, what was happening with her mouth?! Was it made of smoke?! What's going on?!
"Well, well, well." A voice chuckled.
She looked up, freezing. There stood a woman, pale skinned, bags under her eyes, grinning at her. She had wild dark red hair that descended to her hips, and ashen red eyes, that of which were now locked onto her form. The woman stepped through what appeared to be an endless void, ground forming beneath her as she approached Hisoka.
"It has been a long ass time. I must congratulate you, brat. You must've been through something dire if that power manifested. Good on you!" She said, clasping her hands together.
Hisoka stared. Just who was this woman?
"Oh. Right." The woman seemed to realize. "Gonna have to rush this, seeing as how you're a bit busy. I'll make this short...."
The woman held out her hand, blood popping with crimson flickers of heat on her palm.
"This is Blood Burst. Gonna take some getting used to, but you'll want to be wary of detonating the blood in your body." She explained.
Hisoka wanted to say something, anything, but she couldn't.
"Ah. Sorry, kid. You're not strong enough for that." The woman commented. She then chuckled, saying "Welp, I've taken up enough of your time. Get back out there.... We'll have another chance to speak again soon, yeah?"
And, just like that, light flooded Hisoka's vision. She groaned, finding herself lying on her back, her body aching and burning painfully.
"You okay?!" Ochako immediately asked her, helping her sit up.
"Ow...." She groaned. "What happened?.... Did we win?"
"Nope."
Hisoka looked up to meet Aizawa's gaze, the man deactivating her quirk. Almost instantly, Hisoka felt her body healing from her injuries, a slight chill running through her.
"You lost horribly." He stated.
God damn it.
*A few moments later....*
"Alright. Good job everyone." Aizawa said, looking over 1A and 1B. "Before we get to your scores.... Hisoka, care to explain what happened back there? Last time I checked, you don't carry around explosives."
Hisoka rubbed the back of her neck, sighing.
"I don't know." She responded. "I normally have such good control over my quirk. This was.... New. I didn't even see it coming. It was like I was just using my quirk for the first time again.... Whatever this is, it's not something I have control over. I apologize if anyone got hurt."
Once Aizawa finished with everyone, Hisoka went over and grabbed Bakugo.
"Bakugo, I need your help with something...."
Surely, this would be a good idea, right?
