Chapter 37: To Rest in Peace

Both girls held intense glares towards each other, still as a slight breeze settled over them. As soon as the breeze ended, they lunged for each other.

Namiko threw her senbon needles at Fei before performing a jutsu, "Ninja Art: Poison Fog!" A thick mist of purple began to come out of her mouth, approaching Fei rapidly.

"Wind style: Breeze burst jutsu!!" Fei blew the smoke away, noticing Namiko's absence.

'Damn! Where'd she go?!' Fei thought as she prepared another jutsu, 'If it's anything like before, I have to get away from the ground!'

"Wind style: Air step!!" She felt her feet lighten up, allowing her to bounce lighter and higher than before. Soon, she felt shaking underneath her.

"Ha!!" Namiko yelled as she burst through the ground, fist clenched as she held needles in hand. The ravenette swiftly moved to the side and kicked Namiko on the jaw before aiming for her stomach. Namiko backflipped away, avoiding her punch and slicing where she once was. Fei barely managed to dodge before aiming towards the purpled haired girl.

"Ice Needles!!" She manifested them on her fingertips and threw them up, causing them to rain down upon Namiko.

Namiko grunted as some landed on her, causing her to bleed. She then glanced up, smirking.

"Alright... I see you weren't lying about training. But with this, this will be over soon enough."

She then pulled out a knife of her own, a small curved dagger. She pulled out the needles and began to wipe her blood on the blade, "Ninja art: Borrowed Tempo."

Namiko suddenly had a burst of power. Her speed and strength increased to match Fei's. She then raised the blade towards Fei, "Now, time to feed this balde of mine!!"

Namiko then appeared rapidly in front of Fei, startling her. She barely managed to dodge, receiving only a harsh cut on her cheek and a stab at her shoulder. She then leaned back in time to miss another swipe, flipping over and under the branch she was on to avoid another attack. The fight started to get difficult, seeming that every cut Fei got only increased Namiko's abilities.

'Shit, now she's quicker? If I don't do something, I'll be in some serious trouble,' She thought before making handsigns, 'I've gotta turn the tables!'

"Ninja Art: Ice floor!" She yelled before slamming her hands on the grassy patch below. The ground began to freeze. Fei stayed perfectly adjusted, training to be able to skate and walk around freely. Namiko stumbled, slipping on the ice as she then jumped toward a branch to remain balanced.

"Lousy trick! Let's see how much it'll help you!!" Namiko yelled as she leaped towards Fei, harshly slashing at her, metal colliding with metal as Fei blocked with her fans. She then bounced back up, avoiding Fei's own slashes before repeating the process. Fei felt herself grow sore from the harsh contact, the constant leaping from a high place messing with her stability. She eyed for Namiko's next approach, tired of this game. As the purple haired girl swung once more. Fei flash-stepped aside and raised her leg up high.

"Take this!!" She yelled as she smashed her leg straight into Namiko's back.

"Agh!!" The girl yelped as she shattered some of the ice underneath her. She quickly looked up at Fei, growling and becoming more aggressive with her blade, "How dare you?!" She gripped Fei's grounded leg and pulled, causing Fei to slip. She then sliced her abdomen before aiming for her chest.

"Ah!" The blue-eyed girl yelped as she gripped Namiko's hands, struggling to keep the knife away. Fei used all of her strength to throw her aside, jumping back up and clenching her stomach. Namiko sliced as she left, cutting her ankle and arm.
