Heather
"If you feel uncomfortable at any time just think it and we'll leave." Ikzo told me as he led us through the crowded streets.
We were in a different city on Occolla where the buildings sore high above us. They were still the shiny white but had circular windows that glowed a soft blue. The walkways were paved a dark grey but this area didn't have trees anywhere on them. Instead a dense jungle surrounded the outskirts of the city.
"I will," I assured. "But I'm sure I'll be fine."
During the time Ikzo and I were resting from our travel Pher was traveling to other planets. Ikzo told me that he picked up some of their old friends and they had been here a few days. They waited to see Ikzo before they left again which meant I would be meeting them too. I was slightly nervous about the interaction but with Ikzo here I knew it would be okay.
"Knowing you I'm sure your right." He smiled down at me.
I rolled my eyes jokingly then slowed down as I saw the restaurant. "Hey they can't read my mind can they?"
I still wasn't used to the others doing it but Ikzo was pretty good at telling them not to. It wasn't that I was going to think horrible things about them however it always weirded me out when they did it. Not when Ikzo did though.
"No they have different abilities." He shook his head. "Some can manipulate shadows and temperature."
It would never cease to amaze me the different abilities these people had. I didn't understand how you could even be born with them.
"None of those they will use on you of course." He walked me up to the door of the restaurant. "Ready or do you need a minute?"
I shook my head with a small smile. "No I'm ready."
He pulled the door open with one hand while keeping his other intwined with mine. We walked in together but I fell a step behind so he could find the right table. My confidence in the direction picked up a bit when I saw Pher.
The restaurant looked similar to the one in Ikzo's city but there was no food train. Instead waitresses walked around taking and giving orders. Pher was sitting with ten other aliens. They were grouped together by looks.
There were three purple ones, two males and a girl. They looked taller than the others and had shiny grey hair. The woman's hair hung down to her waist in a series of twisting braids. All of their skin was a lavender color with darker spots scattered in animalistic patterns across their body. Their eyes were yellow with a cat eye pupil. As one of the men laughed at a joke I could make out small fangs.
Five others were a light red color. It almost looked like it had been airbrushed onto their smooth skin. They all appeared to be lanky in build. There were two boys and three girls, all of them had black hair. They kept it cut short though one girl had hers longer, left hanging straight at her shoulders. I could see their green eyes from here and their pupils looked like mine. One thing that was drastically different was that they had a tail. It was long and had hair at the end of it. Like a lions tail.
The last two were males that were tan. Their skin was the color of desert sand but appeared to have a reptile texture. Even with the texture it looked smooth because of how small the pattern was. Their hair was black too but both men wore it long. They had it braided back and it ended past their shoulders. They had blue eyes, so clear they looked like crystals. Both men were overly large, like body builders compared to the others. When one smiled I caught the fangs and canines in their mouths.
All of them sat around a large rectangular table laughing and talking to one another. When Pher suddenly stopped talking and waved in our direction they all turned. My smile was a result of how much attention was now on me. Ikzo squeezed my hand twice which encouraged me to walk up to the table with him.
