Dealing with Straxium is one thing in should have done ages ago. I took too much time, and enjoyment, giving him the same treatment he had for Heather and ultimately failed to finish the job. It killed me that she was hurt by him again, more so that it was my fault he was alive in the first place.
I wasn't one for easy deaths, not when the person didn't deserve it. And Straxium was one of those people. I knew how the ns were with experiments. I've always known however it was never too in depth. With Heathers memories and Straxiums thoughts I got a much closer look, one I didn't wish upon anyone.
The Nastruaprans were scientists in a way. Everything they did was a test and they had no mercy for those involved or those who failed. It was a harsh planet to live on, one most couldn't survive. Unless you were one of them. It was hard to think that long ago we once shared a mother planet, that our species were forced to live next to each other. I had never valued distance so much as now.
And while it wasn't in an Occollans nature to be violent, it was a response we all had when provoked. Straxium provoked me like no other. His arrogant demeanor mixed harshly with his superiority complex. Every time he was reminded of his wrongdoings he stuck his nose in the air and defended them.
It enraged me more that he had the same attitude about Heather. He didn't care that he hurt her or that she was untouchable now. He laughed in my face about choosing her, saying no matter what she did she would never be equal to any of the Vekan species. He claimed she would always be below us and should be treated as such. Then I cut out his tongue.
It was the first thing I cut off of his body. I was tired of his ranting, even when I ripped out his stitching he continued to run his mouth. I knew he was just trying to get to me, to make me kill him quick and get it over with. And while it was getting to me, I wasn't going to give in to a swift death.
"Haslo is saying Trix wants to go to the market. I think they're telling me because she'd want Heather to go with her." Pher said.
"Tell her no." I ripped out one of the newer stitches causing Straxium to grit his teeth. The wound reopened and dark green blood pooled on the surface before dripping to the table.
"Yeah sure I'll tell Trix she can't do something," he said sarcastically.
I glared over the table. "They are there to watch Heather. You tell her no."
I was already paranoid with what happened last time. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to deal with Straxium today I would still be with Heather. She was still recovering and it made me anxious to be away. The others are supposed to be there to make sure she's safe. I knew they were her friends too but her safety was my number one concern right now. I did not want her leaving the estate without me so soon.
"But Trix can go with one of the others. Heather has like five other babysitters."
I growled and bared my teeth at Pher. "Pher I swear you should not be pulling this shit with me today. Tell her to stay put until I get back. Heather can not leave the estate right now."
Pher watched me with hesitancy. I knew he was stuck in the middle but he wouldn't admit that. I was demanding one thing for Heathers best interests. I was his friend, Heather was his friend, but there was one problem. He liked Trix. He never wanted to admit it but I knew he did. And now he was fighting me because he didn't want to tell her no.
And I was the whipped one, I thought sarcastically.
Straxium's thoughts spewed threats and profanities at me. I made them fall to the back of my mind until they were nothing but a humming sensation.
