His eyes flashed between Pher and I. My smile was small, nervous and kind. I wasn't sure how to react now.

I moved to walk ahead of Pher now, "Hey." I said as I got within speaking distance.

"Heather what are you doing here?" His voice was filled with worry and disbelief.

"Can we talk somewhere else?" I asked lowly. He was leaning towards me, so close wouldn't have to reach very far to touch him.

His purple eyes looked to Pher then back to me, examining my face.

"Yes." He agreed.

I noticed how he tried to control his expression when his eyes were back on me. Pher must have said something. I didn't look to him to confirm it.

Ikzo placed his hand just above my left elbow, guiding me to spin and walk back towards his house. I caught Pher's gaze following the motion.

Ikzo kept me close as we headed back to the estate. It helped the others avoid me. They didn't try to knock into me when Ikzo was pressed against me. I stayed silent and so did the other two. I could only imagine what they were thinking, probably having a whole conversation.

Pher was going to mess this up for me.

Ikzo opened the door to his home then allowed me to separate from him. He didn't say anything again. It was unusual. Instead he moved us all into a room I had never been in before. It was comparable to an office.

"Heather I know what you want and I'm going to agree with Pher on this."

My mouth popped open. "You're not even going to hear me out?"

"I know your mother is important to you but to let you go back to the ns is the wrong way to handle it."

"Okay," I said. "So how should I handle it?"

The men shared a look.

"Right just let her go?" I said making Ikzo meet my eyes. "The whole reason they aren't giving her back is my fault. I screwed up and they are taking it out on her. She's my mom Ikzo." The last part came out softer than I intended. I couldn't let this go.

His eyes pulled off of me but mine stayed on his face. He was thinking something over.

"I don't know Heather," he said. "It's not an option for you to go back," His eyes met mine again, "but I understand your position."

I sighed and took a seat in the chair by the table.

"I'm sorry." He did look like it.

Pher on the other hand looked perplexed again. He stared hard at Ikzo's face then would periodically flash to mine.

Suddenly Ikzo's face hardened, his purple eyes moving to Pher's which only caused another confused expression. I watched completely out of the loop as Pher's face smoothed out with realization.

He opened his mouth but nothing came out as Ikzo snapped, "Don't."

It was my turn to be confused. My eyes moved between the two men. As my eyes met Pher's briefly there was no realization left, instead he looked smug. What were they talking about?

"Can just you and I talk Ikzo?" I asked, my eyes staying focused on Ikzo now.

Pher moving signaled that would happen, patting Ikzo's shoulder blade as he went to leave. I was certain an unspoken thought was directed towards him which caused the sour look on Ikzo's face.

I waited until the door was closed before straightening in my seat, "What happened?" I hinted back to his aggressive command.

"Nothing. He's being a smug brouko." Ikzo broke from his stance and moved to sit beside me.
