In the grand hall of the Elemental Castle, the air was thick with tension. Flames flickered in the massive stone hearth, casting long shadows that danced across the polished marble floor. Alexander Knox, his eyes focused intently on the map spread out before him. His fiery red hair fell into his eyes, but he paid it no mind, his concentration entirely on the task at hand.
“It has to be somewhere near this sector,” Alexander muttered, tracing his finger along the outskirts of the map, near a cluster of uncharted territories. His voice was rough, laced with impatience.
Kian Zester, the King of Water, leaned over Alexander’s shoulder, his ocean-blue eyes narrowing as he studied the area. His usual calm demeanor was tinged with frustration. “We’ve searched everywhere else,” Kian said softly. “The coven must be hidden in one of these unmarked regions of dikryuf mountain.Emilia has powerful magic at her disposal. She could easily cloak herself and Valeria from our senses.”
“We’ve underestimated that witch before,” Alexander snapped, looking up at Kian. “And look where it’s gotten us. Valeria is out there, with that sword, and we’re sitting here, clueless.”
Asher Ihor, stood near the window, his arms crossed over his broad chest. His eyes were a deep, forest green, watching the horizon with a fierce intensity. “Patience, brother,” he rumbled, his voice a low growl. “We will find her. She cannot hide forever, not with our combined power.”
Jerone Kyle, stood apart from the others, his icy blue eyes cold and calculating. He was the most distant, a wall of frost surrounding his heart, especially when it came to Valeria. The betrayal of Elanora still cut deep, and the revelation of her past as the Dark Queen made it harder for him to trust. “You speak of finding her as if she is an ally,” Jerone said, his voice as chilling as the wind that followed him. “But remember, she kept her past from us. She was the Dark Queen of Zelerious. Who’s to say she won’t betray us again?”
“She was manipulated,” Kian argued, his voice rising slightly. “She didn’t remember who she was, what she was. We cannot hold her accountable for what happened in her previous life.”
“Enough!” Alexander’s voice cut through the growing tension, his fiery temper flaring. “Valeria is our mate, regardless of her past. We swore to protect her, and that’s what we’ll do. We find her, we bring her back, and then we’ll deal with Zelerious.”
A sudden gust of wind swept through the hall, sending the map fluttering. Jerone’s eyes widened slightly, his senses attuned to the shift in the air. He turned sharply, his gaze locking with Alexander’s. “I can feel it,” Jerone said, his voice quieter now but filled with certainty. “A change in the wind… there’s a disturbance in the northern reaches. Magic, strong and ancient. It must be Emilia’s doing.”
Asher moved away from the window, his expression shifting from stoic calm to focused determination. “The coven,” he said, the rumble of his voice vibrating through the hall. “Emilia’s coven is there. That’s where Valeria is.”
Alexander’s eyes blazed with renewed purpose. “Then we have no time to waste. We leave now,” he ordered, standing up from the table. “We confront Emilia and bring Valeria back. No more delays, no more distractions.”
The four kings moved swiftly, their shared resolve palpable. As they exited the hall, a sense of urgency propelled them forward, each of their hearts beating with a mix of determination and anxiety. For Alexander, Kian, and Asher, the need to protect Valeria was driving them, the bond they shared with her pulling them towards her. For Jerone, it was more complicated—a desire to see if she could be trusted, if she was still the same woman they had once loved, and maybe, just maybe, a chance for redemption.
The Elemental Kings summoned their powers, a display of raw energy that crackled through the air. Alexander’s flames roared to life, Kian’s water swirled with a ferocious current, Asher’s earth shook beneath their feet, and Jerone’s wind howled like a storm. Together, they opened a portal, the air around them shimmering with the force of their combined magic.
“Hold on, Valeria,” Alexander murmured as he stepped through the portal, his heart burning with the fire of his resolve. “We’re coming for you.”
The portal closed behind them, leaving the hall empty once more. But the echo of their determination lingered in the air, a promise of the battle that was to come. The Elemental Kings were united in their quest, and nothing, not even the power of the dark witch Emilia, would stand in their way.
