Chapter 23

Husky Has a Heart

"This chapter is serious, so I have no joke."

After the dog left, I sat down and took a deep breath, calming down.

I felt both irritated with him and worried about him, but my anger and ego had more weight. I wasn't wrong, he was the one who left me behind. Why should I care about him?

"Hi, Wayu. Wait. What happened? Did Natee leave already?" Kaow arrived less than an hour after I called him to eat with me because that jerk had left.

"Don't talk about him. I've already ordered the food for you. This meal's on me." I said while Kaow sat down opposite to me, looking over me.

"You don't look good," Kaow commented.

"How? I'm great." I replied. While I was about to drink beer, Kaow pulled the glass out of my hand.

"Stop drinking, you always create trouble whenever you're drunk."

Kaow stopped me, causing me to feel more frustrated.

"If you're not letting me drink, you have to listen to me complain, okay?" I asked him.

"I came here to listen to you." Kaow nodded.

He deserved to be my best friend, except when he was with his boyfriend and forgot my existence.

Then I started spilling everything that was on my mind.

"That damn dog is too stupid, I've never been this annoyed before."

"Why? He sang a love song for you. At first, I came here to congratulate you two."

"Congratulate my a**. He just got up and left, leaving me sitting here alone." I rolled my eyes.

"So what did you do to make Natee sulk like that?" Kaow asked, curious.

"I don't know." I sighed. "I just asked him if anyone wrote a script for him to sing that song to me, and if he was trying to boost the series ratings. That's all I said, and he got mad at me. I just want to make sure it was his idea so I could figure out what to do next."

"Oh, man..." Kaow looked at me seriously. "I get why Natee got mad at you."

"Wait, you're not on my side? You said you came to listen to me." I retorted.

"You should think about it from his point of view."

"For example, assuming that you carefully chose a birthday present for me, hoping it would make me very happy, but when you gave it to me, I asked if you were giving it to me in return for letting you copy my homework. How would you feel?"

"S***. I'd be mad at you." I answered immediately. "You're my best friend, but what am I to you?"

"That's right." Kaow raised his voice. "Natee would probably think the same."

Kaow's words made me realise my mistake. If Natee had genuinely prepared that song to sing for me from the bottom of his heart, but I asked him those questions, he would feel terrible that I judged him like that.

Damn, I didn't think that my question would hurt his feelings so badly.

"Oh my, so what should I do? Help me think this through." I pleaded with Kaow.
