Hyunjin x Felix series 2

Family sickness

In the middle of the night Jinhyun left his room and went downstairs with his plushie in his hand. He opens his parents' room door then went to Felix's side of the bed before shaking his arm.

"M-mama?", he sounded teary.
"Hmm..? Oh what's wrong, angel?"
"I had a bad dweam."

"Aw. Come here.", he picks the little one up then sits him in between himself and Hyunjin.

Just then Lily starts crying which was from the baby monitor. It wakes up Hyunjin.
"Mm..what's happening?"

"Nothing. I'll take care of it. Stay with appa Jinhyun.", Felix gets out of bed.

Jinhyun lies on his appa's chest, the older wrapping his arms around him then pats his back gently before they fall back asleep.

The blonde went to go see Lily who continues crying until she saw Felix in sight.
"Did you have a bad dream too?"

He holds her then wiped her face.
"Wait. Is that..?" He turns the room light on and examines Lily's face closely.

"Is that a...freckle?"
He rubs her cheek to wipe it off but it doesn't budge.

"Oh my god. It is a freckle."
Lily sneezes in his face then starts crying again.
"Oh Lily.", he sits her in her crib then grabs a tissue.

He hears her coughing.
"Are you sick, princess?", he feels her forehead after taking off her white hat.

"You're heating up. Hold on, love."

Felix gets her changed out of her onesie and into sleeveless shirt and shorts then takes her downstairs. "Shh shh. You're ok." He grabs her bottle of milk out the fridge puts it in the microwave for a few seconds. While waiting he puts Lily's sandals on then sends Hyunjin a quick text for when he wakes up.

"Ok. Let's go."

It was early in the morning when Felix waits in a room, waiting for Lily's pediatrician. She whines after crying then sneezes again and the blonde wipes her nose with a tissue.

"Bless you."
The doctor comes in the room.
"Good morning. Sorry to keep you waiting."

"It's ok."

"I'm Dr. Hwang. I'll be your new pediatrician since the one from before was..let go. Anyway this must be Lily."

"Yes she is. Do I keep her in my lap or.?"
"You can. That's fine.", she washes her hands before putting on gloves. "What seems to be problem?"

"I think she's getting sick. An hour ago she was sneezing and coughing. And was burning up."
"Sounds like common flu symptoms."

"Flu? From what?"
"It is flu season.", she examines the little one while kneeled on the floor. "She is a cutie."

"Thank you."
Lily whimpers and tries to move away when the doctor checks her throat.

"Aw poor thing. You must be very sick."
"Will she be ok?"

"I have no doubt. Give her three millimeters of this every four hours.", she hands him a medicine bottle for infants. "I can make another appointment a week later to see her progress."

"That'll be great. You look oddly similar to my husband."
"Oh. That is odd."

"Not saying you look like a man. Just look...familiar."
"People say the same thing when my oppa and I were together."

"What does he do?"
"I don't know. When our parents passed on we went our separate ways."

"Oh. I had no idea."
"It's ok. It was a long time ago. Is next Saturday at the same time ok?"

"Yes. That's fine.", his phone vibrates in his pocket. "Excuse me. My husband's calling. Hey, Hyun."

"I just got your text. Is Lily ok?"
"She will be. Just a small flu."
"You know that's contagious right?"

"I'm fine."
"Now but you'll get sick too."
"Hyunjin, relax. If I get sick, I'll do best to not pass it to you ok?"

"Ok. Bring some disinfectant wipes when you're on your way back."
Felix shakes his head. "Fine."

The call ends.
"Your appa is a germaphobe."
"You're married to Hyunjin? Hwang Hyunjin?"

"Uh yes. You know him?"

He looked at the doctor's name tag and widen his eyes.
"Wait. Are you..?"

"Small world huh?"
"Whoa. No wonder I thought you looked familiar. Nice to meet you."

"Likewise."
"I'm sorry but Hyunjin never really talked about his family except one time about his parents."

"It's ok. Why would he say anything about me? We haven't been in touch in years."
"You can now."

"Oh no. I don't really want to. I'm a bit mad at him."
"For what?"

"It's silly. But...now I know he's married and the thought of him not telling me anything about you is...just..upsetting."

"That's not silly."

"We were close like friends then just split when he went to college. Ah what I'm saying? I shouldn't be spilling this on you."

"You can. You're technically my sister now.", he smiles.

Later. Felix and Lily come back home to the smell of bleach and cleaning soap.
"Sigh. Seriously, Hyun."

"Hey, babe. How is Lily feeling?", he speaks through a mask.
"Sigh. You're being a little dramatic, don't you think?"

"No? I'm just being precautious."
"Why not quarantine us in the house then?"
"...I mean.."

"Oh god, Hyunjin. It's just the flu. Calm down.", he sets Lily in her high chair before pouring her medicine.

"How long does she have to take that?"
"Every four hours. She should be ok in a few days. Also I met your sister."
