For the past couple weeks, Johnnie has been overly happy. As if it was a mask of some sorts. He walked downstairs and greeted Carrington, "Hey!" As he walked past to get a bottle of water from the kitchen.
Carrington turned around, his eyes narrowing as he watched Johnnie.
He leaned back against the wall and folded his arms across his chest, tilting his head to the side. "Hey," he responded, his voice somewhat suspicious. He could tell that something was off about Johnnie. He wasn't acting like himself, and it was making Carrington curious.
Johnnie opened the water bottle and took a few sips as he was heading back upstairs to his bedroom.
Carrington watched him go, his mind racing with questions. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was going on with Johnnie, and he wanted to find out what it was.
He pushed himself off the wall and followed Johnnie upstairs, quietly entering his bedroom without knocking.
Johnnie was writing... and looked up to notice Carrington. He smiled again. "Hey," He greeted again.
Carrington returned the smile, but it was forced. He was trying to hide his concern, but he couldn't help but wonder what was going on in Johnnie's mind.
He walked over to the bed and sat down next to him, trying to get a look at what he was writing. "What are you doing?"
"Oh just uhh, writing some lyrics." Johnnie dismissed as he flipped the paper over. "Not like it matters."
Carrington raised an eyebrow, not convinced by Johnnie's casual response. He leaned in a bit closer, his eyes fixed on the flipped paper.
"Lyrics, huh?" he said, his voice laced with suspicion. "Can I see them?"
"No, it's not even done" Johnnie shakes his head, lying through his teeth. He got up from his seat and kissed Carrington's head out of the blue and we to grab his phone from the nightstand.
Carrington's expression softened a bit at the unexpected kiss, but his curiosity was still piqued. He couldn't help but feel like there was more to Johnnie's lyrics than he was letting on.
He watched as Johnnie grabbed his phone and leaned back against the wall, his eyes narrowing again. "Are you sure it's not done?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of suspicion. "You seem a bit defensive about it."
"It's not done." Johnnie repeated. "I'll show you when I'm done, okay?" He 'smiled'.
Carrington could sense that Johnnie was being evasive, but he didn't want to push too hard and risk upsetting him.
He let out a small sigh and nodded. "Okay," he said, trying to sound casual. "I trust you. Just let me know when you're ready to show me, okay?"
"Okay" Johnnie replied. Jake called out, "Hey Carrington! Chase is here, are you still coming with me and him to that party?! Johnnie said he's staying home tonight!"
Carrington perked up at the sound of Jake's voice, turning his attention towards the door.
He glanced back at Johnnie before calling out, "Yeah, I'm coming!"He then turned back to Johnnie and gave him a small smile. "I'll see you later, okay?"
Johnnie 'smiled'. He really hoped Carrington would stay, hear his silent call for help, - but it went over the roommate's head. "Okay."
Carrington stood up from the bed and gave Johnnie a quick pat on the shoulder before heading out of the room to meet Jake and Chase.
