Chapter 16
It had been a day since Anjela let Luna go from behind the school. Since then, she's been on following her, tracking her flaws and weaknesses. Bella and Logan helped her by tracking Luna in classes Anjela didn't have with her. So far, They found out she had a little sister probably around the age of six and she always takes her to the park and spend time together. It wasn't a flaw, but they thought they could kidnap the girl and she would spill then. But they decided to hold off and see if she could pull off other fails.
Anjela was now following Luna to her house, always keeping a good distance behind her. Luna was dialing a number down on her phone, putting it to her ear after doing so. Anjela got her notepad out and waited.
" Leslie, do you know what food your bringing to our hideout?" Luna spoke.
A few moments went by before she furrowed up her eyebrows in disgust. " No not that food. One, I'm allergic to oranges. I break out in hives if I do, so don't bring that. And two, There is no way I'm eating left over pot roast your mom made. Just bring Doritos and a salad,"
Anjela quickly wrote oranges down and listened for anymore things she needed to know.
" Okay that's all I needed to-" Luna paused, rolling her eyes.
" No, Leslie. It's nothing important. We're just hanging out for fun. No one's out to get you. I'll see you there,"
And with that she hung up, a small smile plastered to her face. " Oh it will be important. You'll be on of us," she snickered to herself before walking up to her door and walking in.
Anjela stiffened. Leslie would be a red at the end of the day. Unless Anjela could somehow stop it. She got out her phone and hesitated weather she could ask Leslie where the hideout was and say that Luna invited her. But then she realized she couldn't. Anjela didn't have her number and Leslie would probably suspect something was off.
Just then the door opened again and Luna appeared with a bottle of water, sleep mask, and some tylenol in her hands.
Is she planning on keeping her there through the night? she thought as she hid behind a shrub.
Luna then took out a bag and put all she had in it. It was light pink and it had the initials WPI on it. She then switched into her wolf form, the bag glowing before disappearing in thin air. Anjela wondered how that happened. Perhaps it was some kind of things part wolves use. She pushed it aside and followed her in her wolf form as well, being as light on her paws as possible.
They both picked up speed into the forest, nature's scent of the pines hitting Anjela's nose.Though she ran a good distance behind her, she glanced at the forest floor beneath her every once in a while, making sure there were no sticks and leaves in her path. Every time she spotted some, she slowed down and put her paws to the soft earth, picking up speed again as she passed it.
Tiring minutes ticked by until Luna came to a halt, sniffing the air with her wet nose. Anjela froze in fear.
Does she smell me?
As quick as a fox, Anjela hid behind the nearest tree, Luna now perking her ears for any sounds. She stayed quiet as a mouse, taking small breaths. A few moments went by before Luna gave up, now turning into her human form and sliding gingerly down a ditch, a tree stump in the center. Leslie was there munching on Doritos, reading a book.
