I wake up caused by the first sunlight of the day flashing through the window on my face. I blink and sit up, rubbing my eyes, yawning and stretching. At first, I don't remember anything that happened the day before. But then it hit me all at once... My eyes widen as I recall the last events. I look at the bed besides me, but Sylus's side of the bed is empty and cold. The sheets are rumpled, and the pillow is still indented where he had been lying. It's clear that Sylus had left the bed sometime during the night. My gaze flickers to the door. Am I locked up again? But no, the door is still a hint open, the hallway beyond silent and empty.

I consider briefly if I should take the chance to run away. Not using this rare chance to escape would be dumb. But I am curious after seeing the gentle side of Sylus in contrast to the cruelty. I urgently want to know what happened in our past, getting a clue of what's going on. What is my part in all this mess? "Who the fuck is Sylus?" I mumble as I swing my legs out of bed. "And where the hell did he go?" Muttering aloud I frown. I am sitting on the edge for a moment as I try to wrap my head around our situation while my eyes roam the bedroom.

The bedroom is silent. Beside the king-sized bed with its silky sheets there is a closet and the bathroom door which I already know. There are thick black curtains on each side of the window, but right now the window is open. Just as I am about to stand up to look outside, I freeze in my tracks because I hear a noise coming from downstairs, the sound of footsteps followed by the creaking of the stairs. Sylus?

It takes a while for the footsteps to approach the door, as if someone is hesitant to come in. Still sitting on the edge of the bed, my hair is a mess, and I have wrinkles from the pillow still on my face, as the door swings wide open and I look up at Sylus's Face. I can smell the damp fresh fragrance of the morning that waves in with his presence. The orange sunlight shines on his face, and before he narrows his eyes and frowns in discomfort, I glimpse his irises sparkle like rubies. Beautiful. Stunning.

"Good morning, Sunshine." His voice is teasing as he observes my morning appearance with a raised eyebrow. "You're awake..." His tone is almost neutral. "I wondered if I would find you still here, or if you had decided to make a run for it." He takes a step closer to the bed, his eyes never leaving mine. "I'm glad to see that you decided to keep your promise, Kitten." Sylus says, his voice low and steady.

Standing next to me he pauses, towering over me where I am sitting on the bed. At that point, I start to wonder whether I was dumb or brave for keeping my word... probably both. "Good morning, Sylus..." I greet him back. He looks so intimidating and fucking hot, that I can't think clear. I am not afraid... I am not aroused... Damn, keep a straight face. "Where have you been? Was that another test of yours?"

Sylus smirks at my question. "No. That wasn't a test. I was just..." He pauses for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal, before finally continuing. "I couldn't sleep. I went for a walk."

As he takes another step closer to me, his body almost touching mine, making me feel small and vulnerable in comparison to his towering frame. "Just to inform you. I didn't use the security cameras." Sylus adds, his voice dropping even lower, almost a whisper now. "I didn't want to invade your privacy any longer."

Now that's quite a sudden change in Sylus's behavior. And I am quite skeptical about this. "No more stalking?" He shakes his head, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "No more stalking." He confirms. "I've realized that there are better ways to win your trust and affection. I would like to introduce you to a friend of mine, Kitten."

As if that was a keyword, a large crow flies into the bedroom, landing on Sylus shoulder. Its eyes are familiar crimson, his wings are mechanic. "Kitten, this is Mephisto. I built him, he is my eyes and ears in the N109 Zone." I narrow my eyes at the crow. I knew it looked familiar. Bastard. "And a useful tool to stalk me, I assume?" I have seen this crow several times a few days before I even met Sylus for the first time. So that's how Sylus could stalk me while I was clueless. Evil... Bastard! Sylus wicked smirk returns on his lips as he says. "Mephisto is pretty useful... for protective surveillance... that's true." The crow... Mephisto... that mechanical beast spreads its wings as it hears its Masters praises and response "craw... craw..." as if its proud of its skills. "You little... bird...!" I mutter, the word bird sounding like a cursing out of my mouth. "I am sure you will grow quite fond of Mephisto... once you know him better." Sylus smiles and pats Mephistos head. As he gestures the crow to departure, it takes off and flies through the open door into the hallway.

"Come." Sylus says, gesturing towards the door. "Let's get some breakfast. I'm sure you're hungry after last night's events. And after all, I want to be a good host for my precious little Kitten." He steps away from me, heading towards the door. As he glances back at me, waiting for me to follow, he adds with a mischief in his tone. "And while we eat, we can talk."
