Sylus's Perspective

The roaring of the engine is the only sound that disturbs the awkward silence between me and Luke, while we keep driving through the N109 Zone. Luke did not say a word or even look me in the eye the entire time we've been driving through the N109 Zone.

It's obvious that he was uncomfortable with witnessing how I was taking care of your needs, and it seems like he is nowhere near as indifferent as his twin. I make a mental note to request Kieran to drive us for our next rides instead of Luke.

It's a cloudless night and the night sky is enchanting, as I stare outside the window on your side. Your head rests against my shoulder while you keep sleeping peacefully. I nuzzle my face against your soft hair, enjoying how the scent of your shampoo fills my nose. I hold your hand in mine and our fingers are entwined, feeling your warmth on my palm. I could sit like this for hours, cherishing the proximity between us.

"Sylus..." Suddenly, you softly murmur my name, causing a warm feeling to spread throughout my chest starting with my heart. As I watch your peaceful expression my protective instincts flare up and my fingers tighten around your hand almost possessively.

As we approach the villa, Luke skillfully drives the car to the entrance, gradually slowing down until it comes to a smooth halt. I silently appreciate his thoughtfulness in not awakening you. He quietly steps out of the car, treading softly to avoid making any noise, and gently opens the rear door for me.

I look down on your sleeping frame and take a moment to appreciate your adorable expression, before I slowly slide out of the car, making sure not to disturb you. When I stand up, I carefully gather you into my arms, lifting you from the backseat of the car. You instinctively wrap your arms around my neck, burying your face into my chest while you keep sleeping. With you cradled in my arms, I follow Luke through the entrance of the villa, feeling a sense of protectiveness and pride as I carry you over the threshold like a bride.

My eyes instantly scan our surroundings, taking in the familiar sight of the villa's grand entry hall which is silent and peaceful. As Luke and I part ways in the hall, we do not even exchange a glace. The tension between us remains palpable, causing an awkward atmosphere to linger in the air. I add it to my list "handle that later".

I tighten my grip around you, relishing the feeling of your warm body in my arms, before I walk towards the staircase that leads up to my bedroom, my boots echoing on the marble floor. With a gentle nudge from my shoulder, the heavy door creaks open, revealing the dimly lit interior of my bedroom beyond. I stride into the room, gently laying you down onto my bed. The mattress sinks under your weight, and you roll to your side. I can't help but smile as I remove your horns, placing them gently on the bedside table.

Then I gently remove your shoes, before pulling the blanket over you, wrapping you in my sheets like a little girl. I kiss your forehead before I withdraw, to stride into the kitchen. I get a glass of water and some aspirin to put it on your bedside table. After that amount of alcohol, the aftereffects will be unpleasant for sure.

"Mephisto, keep a watch over her, while I take care of some business." I instruct my mechanical crow that silently followed us since we entered the building. He flies to the end of the bed, resting on the rail. His red eyes gleam scarlet in the darkness of the night as he observes your sleep.

Then, I leave to take care of some business matters that piled up while I was gone. The little kitten we rescued purrs at my feet in need of attention and I lean down to lift it up into my arms. "Hey there, beauty." On my way to the office, I pat the kitten's head, and its purring fills the air.
