We approach the entrance to the building, the sound of music and chatter filling the air. Sylus keeps his grip on my hand firm, leading me towards the entrance, his eyes scanning the courtyard for any potential threats. It is good that I can hold onto him after all, the high heels are literally a deathtrap with my shaky knees. The aftereffect of Sylus action still effecting my whole body. "A little shaky, hm... Kitten? Don't worry, I got you. Just smile and play your role. We're here for information, but we need to blend in."

"Yeah yeah... Just smiling and looking pretty... I get it..." I mumble annoyed but I freeze in my movements as I register a dance floor in the middle of the hall. The hall is decorated with chandeliers. People are gracefully dancing, twirling and swirling. I get dizzy just from watching. "You did not mention dancing...!" A hint of panic fills my voice. Sylus just chuckles at the look of fear on my face as I stare horrified at the dance floor. "Don't worry, I'll lead you. Just follow my lead, and you'll be fine."

"You are kidding, right? No way I am going to dance. I need a drink. Now." My eyes roam the ballroom looking for a bar. At that moment Sylus leans into me, so close that his lips brush against my ears, handing me his black credit card casually. "Be a good girl and get us some drinks."

I am leaning against the bar ordering drinks for Sylus and me. I decide to go for the most expensive red wine they have on the card. While I hand the bartender the black credit card, I can't deny that the feeling is incredible. I am not used to buy want I want when I want it. I am saving each penny on my broke bank account. But usually that does not bother me.

As I turn around to scan the dance floor my gaze finds Sylus immediately, his presence is captivating. There is a woman standing next to him and they talk. He looks indifferent. I don't care. He's not mine to claim. It's okay if they talk. A little small talk does not hurt. I am not jealous or anything like that.

Then she reaches out to touch his arm, her smile sexy and sinful. Wait a minute. Damn bitch, take your dirty hands off my man. I grab the two glasses of wine and stride firmly in their direction. As I come quickly closer, I can hear parts of their conversation. "It's a shame that your accompaniment does not want to dance with you. The music is wonderful, and you look like a natural dancer. I would love to dance with you." I don't wait for Sylus reaction.

I step between Sylus and the pretty woman, before she can lay a finger on him, put the two wineglasses down on a nearby table, grab Sylus arm and pull him away towards the dancefloor. "I changed my mind, let's dance!" I don't give a shit about her pissed expression as we leave without a word. I don't see the surprise written all over Sylus's face, as I drag him behind with me.

I was not even aware I could feel so much jealousy and unreasonable hate for a stranger woman. But the image of Sylus dancing with another woman, lets my blood boil in my veins and I see red. What's wrong with me? I acted without thinking. As we reach the dance floor, I stand there, suddenly letting go of his hand, wondering what hit me just now. I look down at my hands, unable to look up in his face. What kind of face does he make? Will he make fun of me? Could he even be angry for me interfering? "Now that was impolite, kitten. Did you forget your manners?" His voice is filled with mockery, I knew it. My face is burning from embarrassment.

Then I feel his firm but gentle grip on my chin, as Sylus lifts my head up forcing me to look up at his face. His scarlet eyes sparkle with satisfaction and a sly grin appears on his face. Did he plan this to happen? Why does it suddenly feel that I stepped into his trap like a fool.

"So, you changed your mind, kitten?" Sylus smile is seductive, and he looks incredible. In his black-red suit, his scarlet eyes shining in the firelight of the chandelier. He looks like a vampire out of a dark tale. Its breathtaking, my heart skips a beat and for a moment I forget to breath. My whole body is itching for his touch, like a crawling under my skin. "It would be my pleasure." His voice is deep, as he holds out his hand to me to reach for him. I feel like the princess Lily from his bedtime story, captivated by the vampire king. I know I am a fool as I step closer to take his hand, stepping right into his trap.

As I finally hold his hand, he swiftly pulls me closer, placing one hand on my waist while holding my hand gently in his palm. Sylus is close enough for me to feel the heat radiating from his body. His face is only inches away from mine, as he leans in even closer, his hot breath on my neck as he whispers. "Showtime! Trust me, kitten."

As the music of the next song starts, Sylus starts leads me over the dancefloor with smooth movements. I am certainly not a good dancer, but Sylus manages to make me appear graceful even if I step one or two times accidently on his foot. One of my palm's rests on his chest and I can feel his rapid heartbeat under my touch and the muscles under his shirt, while he holds my other hand in his. The world around us could burn up in flames and I would not mind at that moment. I would not even notice, because I am captivated by his gaze locked on my eyes as if I am the only one.

I do not even register, that the crowd on the dancefloor has parted for us and that all eyes are on us. In the meantime, Sylus makes sure to show off how beautiful I look in my dress by swirling me around, the dress made of rubies glistening like drops of blood is playing around my curves in a seductive manner. I am not aware now that I am the beautiful bait.

As the song comes to an end, he swirls me around one last time and captures me in his arms, bending me backwards in a dramatic pose, his body pressed against mine. As his lips touch mine, I can't help but wrap my arms around his neck, running my fingers through his white messy hair. His scent is intoxicating. The only thing I can hear, is the beating of my racing heart in my ears. I don't notice the applause from the guests around us.

And then the music stops and unfortunately Sylus lets go of my body, his absence leaving a pain I can't explain. Suddenly, he leans in to cup my cheeks, kissing me gently on my lips while discreetly sliding a small earpiece into my ear, connecting it to his own. "Kitten, I must go for now. Mephisto has discovered something interesting, and I need to check the circumstances. Go and have some fun. Don't hesitate to use that black credit card I gave you, alright? t's a charity ball after all."

"But..." He is gone before I can refuse, and I can't help but feel disappointed as I stand there on the dancefloor left alone.
