(Warning: swearing)

Max's POV:

Well, I don't even know where to start. Too much had happened already, so I think I'll start with the biggest disaster.

The Mind Flayer's fleshy weapon had found us and tried to kill us. Luckily, El was able to weaken it so that it couldn't. We thought it went away then, but it got worse.

The monster broke through the roof and grabbed El by her ankle with its spiked tongue. It tried to pull her away, but luckily, I was the first one to grab onto her to stop her. One by one, we all tried to pull El down, with Lucas trying to chop off its tongue with an axe and Nancy shooting at it.

Eventually, El was freed. She collapsed a little, I caught her, and she held my arm. Suddenly, I felt warm inside. Somehow, El's touch felt... good. Like, really good. The monster left a bad gash on her leg, though, and we had to get out of there fast.

We arrived at the supermarket, which we had to throw a rock through because the doors were locked, and looked for things to treat a wound. When we set El down, we saw how bad the wound on her leg was.

Me: "Holy shit..."

Seriously, though. I was scared out of my mind, on the inside. On the outside, I tried keeping it together. Nancy was about to start treating the wound, but I stopped her when I noticed something was off.

Me: "Whoa, what are you doing?"

She looked at me in confusion.

Nancy: "Cleaning the wound."

Me: "No, no, first, we need to stop the bleeding, then clean, then disinfect, then bandage."

She and Jonathan both looked at me in surprise that I knew all that.

Me: "I skateboard, trust me."

Yeah, in the past, I've fallen off my board a lot, and it would hurt like absolute fucking hell. Anyway, I started to instruct everyone on what to get. I gently put a thing of gauze on El's wound and told Mike to keep the pressure on it nice and firm.

I told Nancy and Jonathan to go get water and some soap, then they went to go do so, and I told Lucas to go get a bowl, but not before he made the wisest decision to empty out his backpack full of junk to see if any of it would help. I swear, sometimes, he can be hard to deal with.

He was confused on why a bowl, but Will was able to get him to do so. He and Lucas left. Right now, it was me, Mike and El. I wanted, for some reason, to tell Mike that I could take over while he goes with everyone else to look for the stuff we need, but I couldn't.

Nobody knows this, but I think I might have a thing for El. I don't know how or when it started, but when she's around me, I always feel happy to see her, and if I could right now, I would just give her the biggest hug I can. But I controlled myself and didn't.

In the past, I've questioned my sexuality a bunch of times. I was so sure at first that I was only into guys, but eventually, I figured out that I was bi.

Just then, I saw Lucas talking about some stupid firework, so I went to go see why. This is what I heard...

Lucas: *to Will* "You ever shot one of these suckers before?"

Will: "No, is it sweet?"

Lucas: "That's an understatement."

Me: *to Lucas* "That doesn't look like a bowl."

Lucas: "Nah, it's way better. There's a reason *points to box* this warning label says '18 or older.' This sucker is filled with 150 grains of black powder, aka, gun powder."
