Max's POV:
I felt the sunlight creeping through the window before opening my eyes. It was warm, comforting, like a massage for your face. I slowly sat up in the bed, stretching my arms out before turning to El.
Me: "Good morn-"
I looked over, and she wasn't there. She must've gotten up already.
I got out of bed and made my way downstairs and into the kitchen, but she wasn't there, either. That's when I noticed the back door was slightly open, so I looked out the window and sure enough, there she was, standing in view of the sun, barefoot on the grass, the light shining beautifully on her. I smiled.
I slid my feet into a pair of slippers as I carefully pulled the door open some more and slipped out, closing it back to the way it was, feeling the slight breeze in the air. El turned and saw me coming towards her and she smiled.
El: "Hi."
I gave a little wave.
Me: "Hey."
I stood next to her and watched the sun rise.
Me: "I didn't think you'd be up already."
She chuckled softly.
El: "I didn't, either. I love watching the sun rise, though."
I looked at her, and her smile as she said that made my heart flutter. I stepped closer to her, wrapping my arms around her from behind, resting my head on her shoulder. She holds my hands and leans her head against mine.
Me: "Did you really just want to feel the fresh morning dew on your toes?"
El looks down at the grass.
El: "Dew?"
She lifts her foot and looks at the grass underneath.
El: "Is that why the grass is wet, even though it didn't rain?"
I giggled at how she's still learning things. She looks up at me.
El: "You're laughing."
Me: "I mean... yeah."
El: "But I didn't say anything funny."
Me: "No, I know. It's just... you're just so cute, Ellie."
I see the pink slowly lighting up her face, a smile forming.
El: "Aww..."
I bury my face in her shoulder, breathing in her scent as we continue to watch the sun.
El: "The sun is very beautiful, isn't it?"
Me: "Mmm, as far as beautiful goes, I'd give it third place."
El: "Oh?"
Me: "Yeah... second most beautiful thing are sunsets. The true most beautiful thing I've ever seen..."
I turn to face her, bringing a hand up to rest on her face.
Me: "...is standing right here."
That made her blush. She smiles and leans in to kiss me, I waste no time bringing my lips to connect with hers. Our fingers entangle in each other's hair as our lips moved in perfect sync.
That's when we hear another voice, one that we know all too well.
Robin: "Well, good morning to you, too, lovebirds."
This startled us as we pulled back, both of us turning to see Robin and Nancy standing in the doorway and smiling.
Me: "We didn't wake you two up, did we?"
Nancy: "No, we've been up for a while, you just didn't notice."
El: "Oh."
I lean my head on hers, feeling the need to take in all of her cuteness.
Me: "Go ahead and stare, but it's obvious that El and I are the cutest couple here."
Robin dramatically gasps with her hand on her chest.
Robin: "Never, me and Nance will always claim the top spot."
She wraps her arm around Nancy.
Nancy: "Okay, let's agree that we're all cute here. Now, let's go inside and have some breakfast."
Robin: "Yay!"
We all head inside, making sure to wipe our feet on the mat along the way. If I remember, I'll have to gather us all back outside to watch the sunset.
