Bigger Threat

What if Stranger Things ended up being the LOSERS club instead?

This is modified from another book.

The LOSERS in this chapter will be Eleven (as Jane, and she's just a normal girl with no powers), Max, Nancy, Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will.

(Warning: swearing)

No One's POV:

The LOSERS had saved Max from Pennywise's deadlights curse that he inflicted upon her when she was captured after she beat up her abusive step-dad. Pennywise then appears, and they fight him in the evil lair. They try to beat him, but fail, and Pennywise ends up taking Jane hostage. The others watch in fear.

Max: "Let her go!"

Pennywise: "No, I'll take her. I'll take ALL of you, and I'll feast on your flesh as I feed on your fear."

Pennywise raises his finger and shakes it.

Pennywise: "Orrrrrrr... you'll just leave us be. I'll take her, only her, and then, I will have my long rest, and you will all live to grow and thrive and lead haaaaaaappy lives, until old age takes you back to the weeds."

Pennywise does his evil laugh. Jane tries to tell the others to go.

Jane: "Leave... I'm the one that dragged you all into this. I'm... I'm s-s-so sorry."

Pennywise: *mockingly* "S-s-s-sorry."

Pennywise laughs. Jane tries to make the others leave again.

Jane: "Go."

Max turns to the others.

Max: "Guys, we can't."

Jane: "I'm sorry."

Mike stands up.

Steve: "I told you, Jane. I fucking told you. I don't wanna die. It's your fault."

The others look at Mike.

Mike: "You punched me in the face, you made me walk through shitty water, you brought me to a fucking crackhead house."

Pennywise starts getting mad.

Mike: "And now..."

Mike takes a bat from the huge pile of toys.

Mike: "I'm gonna have to kill this fucking clown."

Pennywise lets go of Jane and stands up, now completely pissed at Mike.

Mike: "WELCOME TO THE LOSERS CLUB, ASSHOLE!"

Pennywise charges at Mike, who smacks IT with the bat. Lucas charges at IT with a fence spike, but burning hands emerge from IT's mouth, which stop Lucas. Dustin takes a spike and hits Pennywise with it, and Miks hits IT with the bat again from the back, causing IT to turn into an elongated, painted lady's face.

IT charges at Dustin, but he swings at IT, which causes IT to stumble back. Lucas tries to beat IT again, but IT makes him fall to the floor, and out come spider limbs out of IT's hands. Pennywise tries to get Lucas with them, but Will takes a spike and stabs IT in the chest with it, causing blood to spill out and float upwards.

IT's head turns into an unwrapped mummy head, which tries to kill Will, but Jane picks up a long chain link off the ground and beats Pennywise with it. She swings at IT again, bringing IT to it's knees. Mike hits IT with the bat again, causing IT to fall to the floor.

IT tries getting back up, but is beaten with the chain link again. IT's face turns into that of a leper, and vomits on Nancy. Everyone is disgusted.

Nancy: "I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!"

Nancy kicks Pennywise in the face, and the face changes again. This time, into one of Max's abusive step-dad.

Pennywise: *as Neil* "Hey, Maxine. Are you still my-?"

Max jams a spike down IT's mouth. IT turns back into Pennywise, who spits out the spike.

Nancy: "Oh, shit!"

Having had enough, IT crawls back in fear to the opening of a well.

Jane: "That's why you didn't kill Max. Cause sh-sh-sh-she wasn't afraid, and we aren't, either. Not anymore. Now you're the one who's afraid, because you're gonna starve."

Pennywise flips backwards into the well, but hangs on to the edge.

Pennywise: "'He thrusts his fists against the posts, and still insists he sees the ghosts. He thrusts his fists against the p-p-p-posts..."

IT's head starts to crumble and float upwards.

Pennywise: "Fear..."

Pennywise lets go of the edge and descends down the well. The LOSERS watch.

Mike: "I know what I'm doing for my summer experience essay."

Max and Jane look at each other, and they hug. Max feels a few tears coming down her face, and Jane rubs her back to calm her. Lucas looks up and sees the bodies of the missing kids floating down.

Lucas: "Guys... guys... the kids are floating down."

Max and Jane had released from their hug. Jane looks over and sees something familiar. She gets closer and sees a yellow raincoat. She gets down on her knees and recognizes that it belonged to her younger brother.

Having finally come to terms with her brother's death, she breaks down in tears. The others get close to comfort him. Mike hugged her from the side, Max wrapped her arms around Robin from behind, and one by one, the others join in to comfort the weeping Jane.

Next month, the LOSERS are sitting near the river. Max explains what she saw in her visions while in a catatonic state, which were that of the LOSERS back in the cistern, but they were older.

Jane looks down and sees a piece of glass on the floor. She picks it up and stands up with it.

Jane: S-s-swear... if IT isn't dead... if IT ever comes back... we'll come back, too."

Max stands up first, then Lucas, then Will, then Mike, then Dustin, then Nancy. Jane cuts her hand with the piece of glass while wincing, then she moves on to each other member, who have the same reaction. When she gets to Max, she doesn't make a single movement. Instead, she looks Jane in the eyes.

The seven then join hands in the oath. They stay like that for a few seconds, then they release. Eventually, one by one, the LOSERS leave their spot, and then, it was just Max and Jane.

Jane: "You all p-p-packed for Portland?"

Max: "Pretty much. I'm going tomorrow morning."

Jane: "H-how long are you gonna be gone?"

Max: "My aunt says I can stay as long as I want."

Jane nods and then looks down with a sad face.

Max: "Hey, uh... just so you know... I never felt like a loser when I was with you."

Jane looks at Max and smiles. Max checks her watch.

Max: "Well... I should probably get going. See you around."

Max stands up and starts to leave. While she was walking, Jane gets up and runs to her. She turns around and sees Jane. She stands there for a second, then she kisses Max. When she pulls away, Max stands there a little surprised, but then, she smiles.

She rests a hand on the side of Jane's face and kisses her back. After about 10 seconds, they pull away while she still had her hand resting on Jane's face. She smiles again. They stare a few seconds.

Max: "Bye..."

She lets her go and turns to leave again. Jane stands there and stares at her as she leaves. She slowly breaks into a smile.
