Max has a bad day and El does what she can to brighten her mood.

(Warning: swearing, massive amounts of tickling)

Writer's POV:

In the kitchen, El was making herself something to drink. As she's finishing up, she hears the door open behind her. She already knows who it could be, so she spins around happily on her heels to face her love, Max.

El: "Hi, Ma-"

Before she could finish, Max ends up slamming the door and throwing her skateboard aside, stomping up the stairs. At the last second, El could catch Max mumbling something to herself, and it sounded like...

Max: "Stupid guy."

El was stunned at her sudden mood change, she could always tell when something was wrong, and she would never let it go. She always found ways to cheer Max up, so that is exactly what El was going to do.

Setting her drink aside, she climbed quietly up the stairs in hopes of not irritating Max any further. She makes her way to their shared bedroom and finds her redhead lying face down in their bed. She softly knocks a few times.

El: "Hi..."

Max doesn't move, but she doesn't tell El to go away, she just makes a small noise, so El steps closer.

El: "Sounds like you've had quite the day, huh?"

El sits down on the bed and slowly rubs Max's back.

El: "I understand if you don't want to explain now, but whenever you're ready, I'll listen."

While she waits to see if Max wanted to talk, El takes her girl's shoes off, since Max seemed too mad to do so herself. Upon removing the shoes, El softly massages the arches of Max's feet. One of them slightly twitches, which made El remember that Max was ticklish in that area.

El: "Oh, sorry. I completely forgot that you-"

Max: "Don't apologize."

Max raises her head up, but the rest of her body stays in position. El comes back over to the part of the bed she was just sitting on and reclaims the spot.

Max: "You're right, today was quite the day."

El takes her hand in Max's own, interlacing their fingers.

El: "What happened?"

Max: "Well, you know how some of the other guys at the skate park are douchebags?"

El nods, wishing that she had gone with Max earlier in the day.

Max: "This one guy was just... he wasn't even at the level of douchebag, he was just a complete fucking asshole."

El was a bit surprised to hear this.

Max: "All he kept saying was that girls shouldn't skate and that I should get back to the kitchen and make him some food."

El's expression changes to a combination of bewilderment and wanting to seek revenge. Max notices her face.

Max: "Yeah, he actually said that."

El: "What happened after?"

Max: "I told him that if he didn't shut up, I was going to punch him in stupid, ugly face, and he told me that because I'm a girl, I couldn't do it, but I did it, anyway."

El: "Did he back off then?"

Max: "Actually, the exact opposite: he pushed me down the fucking ramp."

El: "Oh, my god, are you okay? Are you hurt? Does it hurt anywhere?"

El immediately starts checking Max for any scrapes or bruises, but Max quickly calms her.

Max: "No, no, there wasn't any of that. I ended up okay, but it was after that moment that he finally fucked off."

El: "Oh..."

Max buried her face back into the bed.

El: "I should have been there, I could have stopped him."

Max: "He probably would have hurt you, too, now can I please be alone?"

El didn't want to push further, so she accepted.

El: "Okay... I'll go."

She was about to get up, but something came over her, an idea, a devious thought. Max felt that the bed hadn't moved at all, and she grew a bit more annoyed. She lifted her head up.

Max: "Ugh, I said can you please go-"

She stops upon seeing the smirk on El's face.

Max: "What? Why are you smiling like that?"

Her smirk grows wider.

Max: "El, what are you thinking right now?"

El: "Mmm, nothing really, but... I think it sounds like someone might need to have their toes tickled."

El wiggles her eyebrows, and her smile is so wide that almost all her teeth are showing. Max's expression changes entirely upon hearing that.

Max: "No..."

It was a little frightening to her that El knew Max's biggest weakness, or rather, her biggest tickle spot.

Now, remember how it was mentioned that Max's foot slightly twitched upon El rubbing it? Well, it seemed to be a miracle that she didn't move to the toes, otherwise it would have been a whole different story.

Whenever Max seemed to be in a mood that wasn't happy, El always used the method of tickling her girlfriend's toes to cheer her up.

El was already moving down the bed to sit on Max's legs so that she couldn't get out of this, slowly removing Max's socks, revealing her pale feet.

Max: "El, don't do this."

El pretended not to hear. She tosses the socks aside, her fingers moving to the sole of Max's right foot, dragging it across the toes. On command, the foot twitches more than last time. Max lets out a slight laugh. El turns to look at her.

El: "Now I've got you."

She turns back and drags her nails across her girl's toes.

Max: "AHHAAHAHAHAHAHA! NOHOHOHOHOHOHO, PLEAHEAHEAHEAHEASE NOHOHOHOT THEHEHEHERE!"

El continues, enjoying hearing Max's laughter. El ups the ante by grabbing a feather and lightly dragging it across the foot. Max's laugh increases.

Max: "NONONONO! NOT THAT, NOT THAT, PLEAHEAHEAHEASE!"

El grabs a hairbrush and at the same time the feather is on one foot, she drags the hairbrush across the other foot. Max is just a laughing mess at this point.

Max: "STOHOHOHOHOP! PLEAHEAHEAHEASE, MERHERHERHERHERCY!"

After some time, El stops, taking in the last of Max's remaining laughs. She finally gets off of Max.

El: "There's my Maxie."

She leans in and kisses Max on the lips.

Max: "All right, you got me."

El gets into bed and cuddles with Max.

Max: "Please, no more tickling, though."

El: "Mmm, no promises."
