Max's POV:

I was on my way to the skatepark, supposed to meet with my fellow skate friends, but first, I decided to stop at a coffee shop. I usually leave about an hour early so I could have some time to build up some energy before I start the day. The skate park is only ten minutes away from the coffee place. I gathered my wallet and phone, then turned off the car. I stepped out, closed the door, then went inside. I was hit with the familiar sounds and smell of coffee being brewed, along with the rush of cool air.

I approached the counter, not looking up as I was going through my wallet.

Me: "Hey, Mark. Just the usual, please."

Suddenly, I heard an unfamiliar voice.

??: "Oh, I'm sorry, ma'am, but Mark is actually gone for the day."

I looked up and saw that it was, in fact, a different barista. I was completely taken by surprise.

Me: "Oh..."

Once I caught a glimpse of her, my words struggled to get out. Her soft voice was already enough to get me, but actually looking at her was a whole lot more.

She had honey-brown shoulder-length hair that was partially covered by her work hat, her face looked so soft, as well as her neck, she had dreamy brown eyes, her nose and jaw were a perfect shape and size, she had red lipstick on, just... wow, she's really pretty.

She even had beautiful hands, fingers decorated with purple nail polish and a few rings here and there. The way she looked in her barista uniform just... *swoons*

Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was staring until she brought me back to reality.

??: "Miss?"

I snapped out of my daze.

Me: "Oh, umm... s-sorry, I uh, didn't mean to stare. I guess I just... didn't expect Mark to be gone."

Her lips turn into a smile. As soon as she smiled, I was swooning more.

??: "No worries, at least I'm here."

I couldn't help but chuckle at how she said. It somehow, made her even more adorable.

Me: "I'm glad."

She lets out a giggle, which was just so... I don't even know. She's just so beautiful.

??: "So what can I get for you?"

Me: "Oh, uh... *clears throat* a tall iced caramel macchiato, please."

(I've only ever had this type of coffee before, and I'm still not entirely sure that's how they say it)

??: "Good choice."

The new barista starts to tap the buttons on the register.

??: "Would you like whipped cream on that?"

Me: "Y-yes, please."

??: "Gotcha."

She continues to tap the buttons until she stops.

??: "Alright, that'll be *insert price here,* please."

(Since I'm a bit lazy, you can try to guess what you think the price would be)

I take out my wallet and hand her the amount I owe. When I do, I feel her fingers brush up against mine. I don't know why, and it was only for a brief moment, but her touch felt so... perfect. I felt how soft her fingers were.
