El's POV:

It is the perfect day for a walk in nature. The sun is out, the weather is warm, and everything is just completely set in motion. I had picked today to wear my beautiful red dress. I had originally wanted to wear my matching red heels, but I figured the day would be even easier if I just went barefoot, you know, to become one with nature.

The best part about it was that my girlfriend, Max, was coming with me. I was so happy when she asked if she could come along, and I knew it would make this walk so much better.

Once Max and I get outside, we take in all of what's around us: a gentle breeze blowing through our hair, birds singing, the trees rustling together, today was such a satisfying day. It was perfect, especially after having to deal with monsters and the Upside Down. It feels so good to just unwind.

I remembered that we had a good rainstorm last night, so I told Max that we should take a nice stroll through the grass. When we did, it was still wet from the rain, and it felt so good to walk through. A tickling sensation was sent from the grass to the bottoms of our feet, and we couldn't help but share a giggle at the feeling.

Soon after, we came across a gentle flowing creek, and we decided to go splash around in the cool water. On the way down, I end up stepping in a patch of mud. I was surprised at first, and so was Max, but then, she decided to step into the mud, too, and when she did, I put other foot in, and suddenly, this nature walk felt 100 times better.

This made me glad I decided not to wear my heels because if I had worn them, I would've ended up getting them stuck in the mud, and they would've gotten ruined. Even better than the feeling of the wet grass was the feeling of the wet, ankle-deep mud cradling our bare feet.

Max and I interlock our fingers, close our eyes, and we even crack a smile as we slowly wiggle our toes deeper into the mud, with each wiggle making a faint squish noise. We're on our feet all the time, so this was the perfect healing process that we needed.

We waded around through the mud for about five minutes and decided it was about time for us to wash off in the creek. The mud made a funny suction noise as we take our feet out, making us giggle a tiny bit. I knew it would take us a while to clean them, but we didn't even care.

When we step into the creek, we start splashing around. I'm go glad we decided to go for this nature walk. It feels so good to just connect with the Earth in so many ways, especially with Max. We eventually start to wash all the mud off our feet. When Max and I came out clean, we continued our walk. We stepped out of the woods to take in the feeling of the sun shining down on our skin. I look over and see that the sun makes Max's skin glow even more than mine.

She looks over and sees me staring at her, and she smiles. She leans in and kisses me, and at that moment, I shut everything else out and was now focusing on Max's soft and beautiful lips on my lips. After we pull away, we giggle again.

After another few minutes of walking in the sun, I told Max that we should go back through the woods and to that little mud patch. She immediately agreed, considering that she loves mud as much as me, maybe more. After re-entering the woods, we spotted the mud again, and we did not hesitate to run and jump into it while holding hands.

We ended up playing in the mud for a good half hour this time. At some point, we sit down off to the side with our feet still in the mud. We close our eyes and shut out the rest of the world, and just focus on the feeling of our hands together and the cool and squishy Earth surrounding our feet.

After a half hour of sitting, we decide to stand back up and take our feet out of the mud. This time, we didn't wash them off in the creek right away. For the rest of the walk, we kept our feet in their current condition to hold on to the feeling for just a little bit longer.
