The following morning, I woke up with a smile that wouldn't budge. The memories of my evening with Colin replayed in my mind like a favorite song on repeat. I had spent hours in his company, laughing, sharing stories, and feeling an undeniable chemistry that left me buzzing with excitement.

After a quick breakfast, I grabbed my phone and opened the messaging app. A flutter of anticipation filled me as I scrolled through our conversation from the night before. Colin had texted me when he got home, thanking me for a great evening and mentioning how much he looked forward to our next adventure. I felt warmth spread through me as I reread his words.

Colin: I had a blast last night! Let's definitely do it again soon. How about a movie night?

I couldn't help but smile. He was charming, funny, and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me. I typed out a quick response, my fingers dancing over the screen.

Me: I'd love that! I can bring snacks!

After hitting send, I jumped into the shower, letting the hot water wash away any lingering sleepiness. I thought about the last night—how easily I connected with Colin, how he made me laugh, and how I felt safe being myself around him. A part of me wondered if it was too good to be true, but I quickly dismissed that thought. I was ready to embrace whatever came next.

Dressed in a cozy sweater and jeans, I decided to head to the bakery for my usual coffee fix. The crisp air outside invigorated me as I walked through the bustling streets of the city, each step filled with anticipation. Would Colin text me again today? What movie would we watch?

When I arrived at the bakery, the familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee and pastries enveloped me like a warm hug. I ordered my usual coffee and a blueberry muffin, taking a moment to appreciate the comforting routine. Just as I was about to find a seat, the bell above the door jingled, and in walked Colin.

"Adrienne!" he called, his face lighting up as he spotted me. I felt a rush of joy at the sight of him.

"Hey! Fancy seeing you here!" I replied, trying to play it cool despite my racing heart.

"I was just grabbing a coffee before my shift. Mind if I join you?" he asked, already moving toward me.

"Not at all!" I beamed, motioning to the empty seat across from me.

As we settled in, the conversation flowed easily again. We chatted about everything from our favorite movies to the best pizza toppings, and I felt the same chemistry simmering beneath the surface. Colin was so easy to talk to, and I found myself leaning in closer, hanging on his every word.

"Have you seen that new action movie that just came out?" Colin asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

"Not yet, but I've heard it's great! Action isn't usually my go-to, but I'm open to it if you're excited about it," I replied, trying to sound enthusiastic.

"Trust me, it's a wild ride. I'll make sure to pick a good one for our movie night," he said, winking at me.

The playful banter continued, and I found myself stealing glances at him, admiring the way his eyes sparkled when he talked about something he loved. The world around us faded as we focused on each other, laughter bubbling between us.

After finishing our coffees, Colin checked his watch. "I should probably get back to work, but I can't wait for our movie night. How about Friday?"

"Yes, that sounds perfect!" I said, excitement bubbling within me.

"I'll text you the details, and maybe I can introduce you to my secret stash of snacks," he teased.

"Now I'm intrigued. I might have to bring some of my own!" I laughed, feeling a rush of energy.

As we stood to leave, Colin stepped closer, brushing his hand lightly against mine. "Really, Adrienne, I'm looking forward to it. You make it easy to want to spend time together," he said, his voice low.

I felt a shiver run down my spine at his words. "Me too, Colin. I'm really enjoying getting to know you," I replied, feeling the sincerity of my statement.

With one last lingering look, he turned to leave, and I stood there for a moment, the warmth of his presence still wrapping around me. I took a deep breath, relishing the thrill of the connection we were building.

As I made my way home, I couldn't help but replay every moment in my mind. Friday felt like a world away, but the anticipation made each day more exciting. I was beginning to realize that sometimes, taking a chance on love could lead to the sweetest encounters of all.
