Three months had passed since that morning when Adrienne and her friends casually discussed the challenges of pregnancy over pancakes. Little did she know that life had a surprise in store for her. Now, sitting on the edge of her bed, Adrienne looked down at the small yet undeniable bump beginning to show beneath her shirt.

She sighed, recalling the moment she told Colin. Adrienne stood up, brushing her hands over her growing belly, feeling both comforted and overwhelmed by the changes in her body. Every day brought something new-a fresh symptom, a new worry, or a fleeting moment of joy as she imagined what their child might be like.

As she walked into the living room, Colin looked up from his laptop, his eyes immediately softening as they landed on her. "How are you feeling today?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

"Better," Adrienne said, managing a small smile. "Still a little nauseous, but I think it's easing up."

Colin got up and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her in a gentle hug. "You're doing great, you know that?"

Adrienne leaned into him, grateful for his support. "I'm trying," she murmured. "But it's a lot to take in."

"I know," Colin said, his hand resting on her bump. "But we're in this together, okay? Whatever happens, we'll figure it out."

Adrienne nodded, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. "Yeah, together."

As they stood there, holding each other, Adrienne couldn't help but think about the journey ahead. The future was full of uncertainties, but for the first time, she felt a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, they could handle whatever came their way.

Later, as they sat together, their newborn nestled in Adrienne's arms, the weight of the past year seemed to lift. They had faced countless challenges, but this moment made everything worthwhile.

As the sun set outside the hospital window, painting the sky with shades of pink and orange, Adrienne and Colin looked at each other, their hearts full.

"We made it," Colin whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"We did," Adrienne replied, smiling through tears. "And I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
