Chapter 12

Y/n's POV

Once we made it back to Fuhren, we took Will to the Adventurer's Guild to report on the successful request. "Please forgive me, Ilwa. I've been such a burden to you." Will pleaded.

"Don't be ridiculous. I'm glad you're home safe. To be honest, I didn't think you'd make it back alive." Ilwa said, relieved to see Will again.

"Eh, he just got lucky, that's all. Anyway, I'm gonna need one more status plate please, if you don't mind." Papa said, taking a sip from his tea. Tio looked over at papa a little shocked before smiling. "You've got it." Ilwa said. After that, the five of us headed to an inn for the night. Papa got us a really nice room to stay in which reminded me of the house in the labyrinth where I first met papa and mama. "I'm sorry, but are you sure it was appropriate for me to receive a gold, top ranked, status plate?" Tio asked, sitting on the middle bed in a robe. Mama hummed a yes to her. 

"I've got one too!" I cheered, bouncing on the first bed since papa let me do that before.

"Careful Y/n, you can't be bouncing on these beds since we don't own them." Mama said. I stopped bouncing before sighing as I laid there on the bed. "It's still shocking to me that sweet little Y/n can mimic any monster or person who she sees."Tio said, looking at me. 

"Oh! I forgot. You made a promise, Hajime." Shea said, sitting up on the bed. She turned to look at papa who was looking out the window. "Hey, don't be mean. You said 'if I worked really hard you'd show me around all the touristy places in Fuhren,' remember?" Shea said. Papa didn't answer as he continued staring out the window. "What's the matter?" Shea asked.

"There's someone looking at our room's window from the ground outside the hotel." I said.

"You can sense their presence?" Tio asked. I nodded as I pulled my pajamas out of the storage in the ring papa gave me. "I heard this city was a hub for commerce, but it seems there's more to it than what meets the eye." Tio said.

"Well, I don't really care who comes after us. I'll take them down in a heartbeat." Papa said.

"You honestly don't care who they are?" Tio asked.

"Nope, they could be a god, for all I care." Papa answered. Tio laid back on the bed staring up at the ceiling before mama got up and made sure I was going to get changed into my pajamas for bed. The next morning when I woke up, I saw mama hitting Tio with something before she hit her again as Tio made a squeak sound. "I know you're awake Y/n, don't copy her very often." Mama said. I nodded before getting out of bed and getting ready for the day. Mama did my hair up into a ponytail since after copying Tio my hair became longer and I took on a slightly darker dirty blonde hair from my mimicry skill taking from Tio. After Tio was up and finally awake, we headed out and started looking around the town before finding the market to shop at since mama wanted to do some shopping. As we walked around, I noticed some people kept looking at me from the shadows, trying to not be seen. The three of us had stopped at a fruit stand and mama was looking through the selection trying to pick something out to buy. "Yue, are you really alright with this?" Tio asked.

"Him and Shea?" Mama confirmed.

"What else? I mean, those two seem to be growing awfully close, don't you think?" Tio asked.

"That's wonderful." Mama answered.

"What did you say?" Tio asked, doing a double take.

"I think it's great too." I added. Tio looked at me even more stunned than she was at mama's comment. "You two would honestly be please to see Hajime with another woman?" Tio asked.

"She's not just anyone, she's Shea." Mama answered. I nodded in agreement with mama while Tio looked at us a little confused. Mama finally decided on the fruits before handing me a bag to carry. "Here's your change. Thanks so much." The man running the stall said, handing mama the leftover money.
