Y/n's POV

The dragon didn't answer as papa asked his question. "I don't believe you. You saying it's not your fault? How convenient that someone else made you kill my friends. How are we supposed to know you're telling us the truth? I bet you made that entire story up just to save your worthless hide!" Will shouted.

"I swear this is what happened. The dragonborn are a proud people. We'd never stoop to falsehoods." The dragon said.

"Liar!" Will called.

"What she says is true." Mama said.

"What proof do you have?" Will asked, looking at mama. I growled quietly, not liking how he was talking to mama. "The dragonborn are noble and honest. You heard her. She put her pride on the line, right? That's how I'm sure she's not lying." Mama said.

"But wait..." Will started.

"Besides, I know what the eyes of a liar look like and hers are pure." Mama said.

"To think there's someone in this age that understands the ways of the dragonborn." The dragon said. I walked over and sat down next to mama studying the dragon in case I had to mimic her again. "I am the last surviving vampire. Three centuries ago, I was often told to look to the dragonborn as models of how royalty should behave." Mama explained.

"Incredible. We received news in our village that the vampires were eradicated and yet here sits a princess of their ilk." The dragon said.

"Who cares? It doesn't matter. You still killed them all. You can't get away with that!" Will shouted.

"I don't wish to start some kind of conflict between our peoples. That said, it is true that I took innocent lives, but if you order for me to atone for my sins, then... I will accept a fitting punishment. I only ask that you temporarily postpone it until I can stop that dangerous man and whatever it is he plots. Will you give me the chance to prevent another tragedy?" The dragon asked.

"Nah, you've caused me more than enough trouble already. Do you think I give a damn about what you want? It's time for you to die." Papa asked.

Seriously!? You would take my life and let that man get away with evil deeds causing unimaginable to befall humanity? What kind of fool are you? Have you no sense of decency?" The dragon asked. I used Quick Step to get over in front of papa blocking his punch as I heard the dragon flinch. "You're going to kill her?" I asked. Papa stopped and looked at me. "Out of the way Y/n, she's the one who started it." Papa said.

"Y/n's right. She was being controlled. Which means she's not our enemy. Think about it, don't you have a sacred vow not to take innocent lives?" Mama asked. Papa stepped back scratching his cheek before patting my head. "Apologies for interrupting. Could you at least remove the rod while you decide my fate?" The dragon asked. I looked around the dragon's body to see its face as papa did the same thing. "If you leave that inside me, I'll die no matter what you choose." The dragon said.

"Yeah? How so?" Papa asked.

"When I transform, you'll be witness to a beautiful young woman whose buns have been skewered by this oversized metal pipe." The dragon explained. Everyone one of papa's friends gasped as they heard what would happen. "Do you think anyone could survive that? My mana's running out while I'm not exactly opposed...." The dragon asked. Papa quickly covered my ears before turning me towards mama. "There's a child here. Please stop before anything happens. Y/n you go over to Yue." Papa said, uncovering my ears at the last part. I nodded and walked over to mama who told me to cover my eyes before she covered my ears. I could hear the dragon making funny sounds, which made me giggle before a bright light overwhelmed me and I had to use my hands to cover my eyes. Mama eventually removed her hands from my ears before saying I could open my eyes. In front of us was a lady who had black hair, wearing a black outfit and slightly pointed ears. "Okay!" Papa said.

"My sincerest apologies. I belong to the Klarus Clan of the Dragonborn. My name is Tio Klarus. Let's chat." Tio said. She started talking about the things she saw while flying over the mountains and how there was an army of monsters headed towards Ur. "There's an army of monsters marching on Ur?" Aiko asked.

"Indeed. The dark-robed man I described intends to use this army to attack the town. His army numbers well into the thousands I fear." Tio explained.

"What? How do we stop them?" Atsushi asked. Papa checked his eye before speaking up. "This is more than just a small army of beasts. I'm counting 50, no make that 60 thousand. They're already making their way toward the town. If they keep going at this pace, they'll arrive in two days' time." Papa said. Aiko stood up, looking worried. "Then we have to go warn the town. We can evacuate and send for help, some backup." Aiko said.

"Uh, hey. Maybe Hajime could do something about this army." Will suggested. Aiko gasped and looked at papa. "Nope, my only responsibility is getting Will back to Fuhren safely. How am I supposed to do that while fighting a bunch of monsters?" Papa asked.

"Say, Nagumo. Did you see any sign of the man in the dark-robes with them?" Aiko asked.

"No, I've kept an eye out while scanning the ranks, but I haven't seen anyone like Tio described." Papa said.

"Oh, I see. Could you maybe look a bit closer?" Aiko asked.

"Don't want to." Papa said, turning to walk away. I followed behind him as he grabbed Will by the collar. "Nagumo wait!" Aiko called.

"I just told you that my only job is getting him back home alive. The rest of you can stay here if you want, but who's going to warn Ur of what's coming?" Papa asked.

"Yes, good point." Aiko said. Tio made a slight cough before looking at us. "This overly hostile warrior is right. Informing the town should be our highest priority. I can help, but give me a day of rest so I can recover to full health." Tio said.

"Oh, I see." Aiko said.

"Unfortunately, Hajime took so much out of me that I can barely move right now." Tio said. Papa turned and growled at Tio's comment, glaring at her. "That look makes me feel like filth personified." Tio said, while laughing. Papa was getting upset as he mentioned he should've killed Tio after all. "Your words puncture my heart just like...." Tio started. Someone covered my ears again as I saw Tio talking about something. Everyone looked at Tio, worried and weirded out before papa dropped Will and started dragging Tio behind him. We headed back to the bike and car as papa continued dragging Tio. I hopped on my bike and started it while everyone else climbed into papa's car before we started heading back to town.
