Y/n's POV

We made our way to the Dukedom of Ankaji, ready to help the people there however we could. The ride there was smooth, but once we entered the dukedom's town, it was mostly quiet, with no one around. "Wow, Ankaji sure is a looker, huh?" Papa asked.

"Yes. It's a beautiful city." Mama said. Papa continued driving further into Ankaji before we started making our way through an empty market area. "It feels sad. Is this a sad place?" Myu asked.

"It is, I'm afraid. I wish you could've seen it at its liveliest, but that time has passed. We should seek out my father at once." Bize said. We came to a stop in the center of town just outside Bize's home. Everyone climbed out of Brise before papa stored it away in his storage. "Bize, you brought help. Good god, you've fallen ill too?" A man asked, looking at Bize. Kaori was supporting Bize as he stepped towards the man. "Yes. I have, father." Bize said. Bize and his dad talked for a moment before Bize's dad turned to face us. "I see, so you've come to save my nation and its people from ruin." Lanzwi said.

"I guess so." Papa answered. I giggled as we followed him into Lanzwi's home, which was filled with people who were sick. "So many patients." Shea said, looking at everyone.

"Shea, Y/n. Let's start." Kaori said.

"Kay!" I said. We started moving around, healing everyone we could while Kaori dealt with the worst cases. As we were working on healing everyone, I heard explosions going off. The people who were feeling better started panicking as the three of us tried to calm them down. Once everyone calmed down, we continued working on healing them as best as we could. After a few minutes, the explosions stopped and a little later papa and the others came back. "People of Ankaji!" Lanzwi called. Everyone turned to see Lanzwi and papa with the other behind him. "You've come back." Kaori said, looking at papa.

"That was fast." Shea said.

"Course it was. That's papa for ya." I said, proudly. Lanzwi cleared his throat as he looked at me. I giggled before staying quiet. "The source of the pollution has been removed. It'll take some time, but our oasis will be restored." Lanzwi said. The people were surprised to hear that the source was gone, but sounded a little upset that the oasis wasn't back to normal. "In addition, we have a clean supply of water. It's enough to last us until a curse arrives. On that note, the gold ranked adventurers have accepted our quest. They will travel to the Grand Guren Volcano to mine the Stillstone needed to heal us. It'll be a few more days! Keep your spirits up and we shall overcome this together!" Lanzwi called. The people gasped as they looked at our group before we headed out with papa to split up. Kaori and Myu were staying behind while the five of us went to the volcano. "I'll stay here and look after the patients, but my thoughts are with you. Just find the Stillstone and hurry back, okay?" Kaori said.

"Sure thing, see ya soon." Papa said.

"And I'll take good care of Myu, don't worry. Also, what about Y/n?" Kaori asked, looking at me.

"She'll be fine with us and I'll hold you to it for Myu." Papa said. Kaori looked at papa clearly concerned about what we were doing. "What's wrong?" Papa asked.

"I'm just worried, that's all. Promise you'll come back safely? I'll be here waiting." Kaori said. Mama started glaring at papa as Kaori and he were talking before papa promised to come back safe and turned to see mama's glare. Papa flinched, which was funny since papa didn't flinch in front of anyone or anything else. "Papa's scared of mama." I teased. Papa looked at me over his shoulder, reaching for his gun. "You know Y/n... You're a monster." Papa said. I hid behind mama as she patted my arm. "Papa. Are you going to kiss big sis Kaori goodbye? You know the same way you kissed big sis Yue?" Myu asked. Kaori looked at Myu getting upset as Shea shouted at papa for kissing mama. Myu complained about wanting a kiss from papa too before Tio told her she'd had to wait until she was older. Kaori reached over and grabbed papa's tie, pulling him towards us. "What is this about a kiss goodbye? You were working out there today, weren't you? If so, I can't think of a single reason you'd be kissing people. So how did it come to that? What made locking lips so important? Were you two having fun? Did you two forget I even existed?" Kaori asked.
